Default Smith: Trade Likely To Happen Soon

According to Doug's sources a trade is looming very soon. He even went onto say although BC is still weary of dealing Andrea, that he's opening to listening to offers for the big guy now.

So, who gets traded?

Can they trade Jermaine OíNeal? Even if they could find someone interested in that contract, Iím not sure they can move the guy because heís playing so well right now. I have no idea if that lasts (and thereís a school of thought that says his value may never be higher than it is right now) but itíd be awful difficult to suggest they still have expectations for this season if they move him.

Given that I donít think teams are beating down the doors to acquire Parker, Kapono, Moon or Graham, does that mean Bargnaniís in play.

I donít think Bryanís entirely ready to pull the pin on his No. 1 draft pick but I bet heís listening more closely now when people talk about Bargnani than he has been.

While this has nothing to do with the rumor, I love how Smith plays the victim when he chastised for his talk of no deal being made till the New Year. This coming from the man who said Smitch wouldn't be fired and named the All Star team last season and was spectacularly wrong. Yes, he has proven to be quite credible. /rant

Does Bryan have any kind of a blueprint in mind at this point? That's what I wonder about right now. Or how about this - did he ever have much of a blueprint in mind? I don't know if trading Andrea is the way to go, and I keep getting the feeling that the guy's hand is being pushed, and he doesn't have his own vision to fall back on. And I hate having that feeling. Please prove to me that such feelings are wrong BC.

SJ, neither do I sometimes. I just hate his smugness on things when he's right. Acts like king shit. Ugh. Never mind me.

heh.

ya smug is bad, thats why I go for straight out belligerance!

me and Rasam met that guy at the ACC, he was boring, talking like a robot, and seemed like he though the was something good, so I brushed him off half way through the conversation and left to find my GF. I felt a little bad after, but me and Rasam had a good chuckle about it.

why the "next couple weeks"? why not now? why not yesterday?

could it be waiting on a player in question that's currently out with injury?

I think only Doug can answer those questions, spur.

Its because Doug likes to be vague.

"Sometime in the next little while or mabey a good bit longer, the Raps will indeed either trade for or sign a player that may or may not address a team weakness.

Someone who'd know has told me so"

Doug is always saying things. I remember a month ago he said a trade is coming. Now again he says this. We'll just have to wait and watch

Ah hell - who's better than Smith? Frank Zacarelli? Grange has also been spectacularly wrong. And the smugness is like a dad thing. I think it comes with age, and maybe having had a dad as much as being a dad. Being oldish I have to guard against it myself. I just don't think he means to be all that serious about it, but is just doing the barroom braggart thing and does it poorly due to being old and dried up inside.

The guy does have contacts and sources, and it's his job to use them, but they can and will make him look like an idiot a good number of times. I'd pat myself on the back until my bursitis acted up as well, when the info panned out.

If we move JO I think we can get Diop for Parker (that's an ugly post 2010 contract and Dallas needs a SG who can play d). I think he'd be a good fit here. Bosh and Dirk are sort of similar IMO in that they're all offense PFs, Damp and Diop work for Dirk because they take the defensive load and let him get all the touches for the scoring. I think we should model ourselves after that concept.

I love how this douche bag likes to take credit for saying no move would be made until the New Year. When anyone and their Grandmother predicted BC had to give JT some time to see if he can turn this roster around.

Yeah Mr. Smith, you're a fuckin genious!!

Players i'd like to see gone (in no particular order):

Moon
Parker
JK
Soloman
Bargnani (if he can get us an upgrade)
Graham
Adams

Likely gone imo:

AP- Exp. contract
AB- Likely will need to be included to land anything of significance
Joey- Throw in, with some athletic ability
