Hmmm..... one thing's for sure... if this trade goes down Bargs will have to play at his level best for us for the rest of the season.

Still... at least with Marion you can be sure that at least ONE guy will be chasing down rebounds lol...

OUr frontcourt would be considered the softest in the league.
We would get abused in the paint.

Very interesting.

It would be a tough decision to trade JO for Matrix.

I don't think I would do it. I'd play out the season with JO and wait until this Summer to trade his expiring for the necessary swingman we need to become a solid team; and hopefully by next season, Bargs will be ready to become our starting centre (a la Mehmet Okur).

JO has been our best defender and rebounder. I'd be sad to see him traded.

However, this deal is still possible without JO by including fillers. We could give away AP, ANDREA, and MOON. Miami is filled with very cheap contracts of scrubs, so any of those could be added in.

I honestly could see this trade happening. I really think Doug Smith got this thinking from RFs very own Snooch but I digress and will post something Mr. Smith could use on his next blog entry:

Trading Marion and getting back lets say Moon would in turn force Moon off the bench for great 10-15mpg energy and in turn free up the talented Mr. Beasly with no complication of worrying about Marion and a Bruisier in JO. Also, the JO cap space will be saved to resign Wade which is also a benefactor.

The only downlow to JO is that he is a Gimp waiting to happen.

Marion, although I can't stand him would bloster the Frontcourt having a Marion/Bargs/Bosh front. Althought this will finally see if Bargs is a maker or a breaker (if he continues to porch at the 3 point line on offence I vote breaker) it prob is a move for the sake of making one because the Raptors are well out of options.

A follow up trade of Parker for Evans would help the front court out.

Then you have a depth chart of Kapono / Adams / Ukic at the 2guard

How lovely

Joey has been playing a little 2 as of late, but yeah, it would leave Kaps/adams/ukic at the 2....

but of course, Cook could be added into the trade, or if not the 4 million dollars in contract difference between JO and Marion might bring back Delfino.

Daequan Cook would be a solid addition to the trade.

the Heat are very fond of Cook..I'd like Joel Anthony.. if that's possible..although it might not happen cause they're fond of him too.

Again we are totally speculating here. Doug Smith is a minor step above a REAL BS source but ya if you can get Cook it would be solid.

However; raps would have to send more than JO and Moon the other way IMHO. What you suggest

^^ Mabey not, if I remember correctly, Miami wanted JO last season and we wanted Marion.....only last season we had nothing of value for Miami and Miami had nothing for Indiana...........

JO would look real good on Miami playing off of wade.

if you think that most JO points are 15-20 jump shots, wait till Bargnani plays full time at center ... Andreea has improved on defense a lot, and against some players he might do a better job than JO. But overal JO >>>> Bargnani on defense, especially help defense and general awareness. Bargnani blocks a lot of shots, but he's not the intimidating presence JO is + the refs call him for fouls much too often as he gets no respect. I would hate this trade, and generally speaking I see no use for Marion, especially since he's going to leave after half a season.

Ya he would look good playing off wade once his knee goes. Well this trade speculation is all fun but still don't see even BC pulling the trigger after just 7 games with Triano as coach. If their is a trade to be done I'd look more towards the deadline.... a big one anyways

i agree, that deal should be done... marion needs a pg like jose but jose needs to learn to see the rest of the floor better than he has so far.. too often he passes on open looks, if he can't make the pass, find someone who can.

i think that if he starts inside at the low post, he will change his game a bit and become a better post player. we still have opportunity for him to step out and shoot, but in the flow of the offense it should work better i think. sure he is not a strong center yet, but i think part of the problem he has had is that we keep asking him to play the 5, then the 4, then the 3, i guess he just naturally assumed the 2 spot would be next... i wonder how many kobe would drop on him...

I'd consider it. JO hasn't been the defensive answer we've been promised considering he can't play his natural PF position, and his rebounding stinks. I dare say Rasho could do just as good a job.

I'm guessing we'd have to get Banks though. Miami has to lose Banks in a Marion deal because they picked up his contract getting Shaq, they don't want to come out of that deal doing O'Neal for the worse O'Neal + Banks' bad contract. Maybe we'd get rid of Kapono at the same time. JO/Kapono/Graham for Marion/Banks/Cook/Anthony sounds all right.

most of the league laughed at Toronto for aquiring O'Neal, why would they now trade assets and prospects for him?

Unless it's just a salary dump when his contract is up. But why not keep Marion and dump his instead.

Nah, this is all siily talk

What's going on with Dorrell Wright in MIA? He still there? I remember that the kid was playing REALLY well 2 seasons ago and was a fiend on the boards.
