Part of the stipulations of the move were that they would not retain the name or the colours.

back in the day teams used to share names

Giants (football/baseball)
Cardinals (baseball/football)
Yankees (football/baseball)
Royals (baseball/basketball)
Maple Leafs (hockey/baseball)

And saying Marion is simply a better SF than AK at this point in their career is untrue. I'm sure there are numbers to back up your claim, but watching them, I'd take AK 10 outta 10 times.

And I agree with your second assessment. We need a true perimeter defender, not a hybrid.
I think it's arguable who's got better range, but it's irrelevant since they both suck and should not shoot jumpers at all. In fact, they should not get in a position to shoot a jump shot, since their strength (offensively) is around the basket ....

AK is probably more skilled than marion, but he's more of a team defender, much better shot blocker and all that. However, I don't see him defending tony parker or derrick rose like marion does at times ... And while we need shot blocking, the biggest weakness by far with our defense is the lack of a perimeter stopper. Marion might not be the best for that role, but he's up there. And in terms of character issues, AK had his share of issues too ...

anyway, I would rather prefer to let marion go and go strong after millsap. Ideally (not sure if possible) we could use him in a S&T (sign him, and then pack him to kapono for a really good SF).

I LOVE Millsap.... but I just can't see how he would fit here when we already have Bosh and Bargs.

We'd have 3 pretty darn good bigs but our perimeter would be weaker.. and that scares me.

I gues it depends on what else would be coming in.

I can tell you this though... I'd be getting a Raps Millsap jersey FOR SURE.

maybe they trade Bosh in the summer for 3 players including a starting 2 or 3
That would enable the Raps to resign no one (Marion/Praker/Graham/Pops) and have $10 mil in cap space
all hypothetical of course

You live in Koreatown? How multiculturally aware of you.

Friend of mine went to Harbord and I'm planning on heading over to Christie Pits a couple times this summer to play ball. Didn't realize the Leafs played there though...

the korean district is mostly just the store fronts right along bloor street. the neighbourhood in behind that (seaton village) used to be almost entirely italian and portuguese, but has more recently become a diverse mix of lots of things - old school families that have been there for more than 50 years, young families, students, yuppies, koreans, artists, teachers (lots and lots of teachers for some reason), etc.

the leafs games are a lot of fun. free to watch, so i just walk my dog around the park until he gets tired and then we settle in and watch the last few innings of some games. very relaxing and a great way to just chill out for a bit.

you would have to trade Bosh or millsap. Bosh would be the sensitive choice, but even if you trade millsap (bundled with kapono to avoid the byc rule) - that should get you a top quality forward. Not sure who needs a PF, but I'm sure there are more than a few teams out there.
