Default Smith: Bosh Trying To Be The Late Game Hero ... Just Not His Skill

I think this is a fair assessment from Doug on Chris' limitations as a basketball player. Sure we'd love him too (as I'm sure he would) be that guy that's clutch so often that he singlehandedly wins us games, but its clear its not something he's comfortable with, nor can be remotely counted on for.

I think based on who we have, Jay needs to get a little more creative come crunch time from here on our and think of other options before Bosh now.

But to ask him to break his man down, create a shot and a game-winning basket is too much. It’s not his skill.

He gets the job because of failings on the roster, that’s the only reason. A quick, determined, good-shooting, hard-driving wing man does that, not a 6-11 power forward.

Bosh gets killed far too often for being given a job he’s not best suited for, a job he only gets because there’s no one else on the roster that can do it.

Wow, Doug with the scoop.

Only Bosh is a "a very, very good player " he is a good, solid player, but that is all.

Again, once we have some decent wings Boshs numbers will drop tp 15 and 8, wait and see.

If the 15 and 8(seeing Bargnani's rebounding I bet that stays over 10) means we get his Olympic defense, I'll take it.

The only PF in the league that should take a game-winner in an iso is Dirk.

Yup only dirk.

Will never see the" Olympic defense" from Bosh unless our wings are Bron and Wade.

well, the more energy he has left to spend on defense, the better.

I think it's a fair assesment. But I dunno, Bosh is moblie as hell. He can ge to the rack all game long, his hesitation is what kills him in Crunchtime.

We ask too much from the guy though. Altoug I would like to see less vagina in his game, the guy overall is a warrior, he brings it for his team, everynight.

To be honest, I think he tries to do too much. He needs help.

Smith is bang on.

Just look at some of the gamewinners that have happened in the past little while....

Paul with an off the dribble fadeaway 3 for the win.

Dirk with a turnaround 20 fter off the dribble for the win.

Granger with a catch and shoot 3 (contested) for the win.

I love Bosh but he just doesn't really have the ability to pull these off.

And there's no shame in that because you're not going to see Shaq, D12, Amare, TD or KG doing these things either.

Bosh can do more on last plays by pinning guys down and making space, and going after misses.

That was one of the best things Smith has written all season.

why is doug getting all these cudos for something i and a few others have said for along time, ppl are expecting things of Chris that he isnt capable of, and basically no PF (excluding Dirk) is capable of. It's not his fault our team is so bad at the guard position he is by default the go to guy in this situation.

Also for all those "give the ball to Bargs" ppl... you really think he can create his own shot or create off the dribble in these situations? It would be worse then Bosh, altho it might work if he can just shoot a jumper, since other teams arent expecting him to get the ball in this situation, yet.

this team has no go to player. period. until we get one, i guess we give the ball to the guy we consider our face and let him see what he can do... since we can't seem to draw a play that gets us an easy bucket, we have to work way too hard for 2 points, so every team knows this and we keep doing the same thing... change is good once in awhile isn't it/?

Exactly the point, why not use Bargs.

Bargs would at least not force it.
