And this is coming from a former coach who some believed got fired because Of how he handled him...

Smitch>>>Reporters who act like they are part of management but in reality have crap low paying jobs: grange, Koreen, wolstat, that annoying espn guy etc...

Respect for Paul jones and Eric Smith, 2 guys who know ball..

"Anyone can score 18 points if they take 22 or 23 shots"

FLO 11-27-2012 02:39 PM

Did Smitch have a trollface on when he said this?

It's called not throwing another coach under the bus when you're part of the fraternity. He wasn't exactly complimentary about Bargnani.

Didn't derozan score 29 points on 28 shots last game? Bargnani had 34 on 20 shots.

Realize it's one game, but those are your main guys and they take the majority of shots as Smitch reiterated. Bargnani won't always put up 17 points on 17 shots, was shooting a good percentage on fewer shots until the Spurs Game. Too good a shooter to have that kind of game and that kind of shooting percentage for the season

Dario 11-27-2012 02:51 PM

34 on 20 shots isnt bad, lol.

He was shooting .41 FG %, which for a big, isn't that good. After the Spurs game he's now at .386 FG %. thankfully his usage has decreased to 26.8 % (being 28.1 and 28.7 in the 2 previous seasons) but it would be better if that were to go down to 25 %.

Buddy, who's always ready to post Bargnanis fg% like he has it all calculated and saved on his excel spreadsheet, I was referring to the 3 road games leading up to the spurs game.

it's called going to a website and using google, not that hard really (aka me not using excel). I'm not denying his efficiency in those 3 games. however, he hasn't fared too well on the season, which you can't deny.

I meant to say he was starting to put it together offensively until sundays game. Don't need to mention his season fg% I know it's low, it will go up he's not this bad a shooter

carp 11-27-2012 03:05 PM

I think some of you just love to be a negative nancy.... it's gross. Get off Bargnani's jock already!

ok. it would be nice if went up to above .45.

To all Barg-haters, if you are going to keep argue about "trade Barg", think about how bad our offense will be w/o Barg. We are currently ranked 17th in PPG and 24th in Points Allowed. If we grant more PT to Ed Davis and let Barg stay in bench, we sure will have less Points Allowed per game (maybe around 20th), but our PPG will drop to the bottom (28-30th). I doubt we can get a decent starting SF from Barg trade anyways.

I actually think the team scoring will go up. Reason- more movement and transition offense since whoever gets more minutes will be grabbing rebounds or preventing off rebounding. I can easily see Ed get more easy buckets if Il Muggo is not in the way and Val gets some more help on offensive boards....just sayin

The "pound the rock" may then mean something to the others on the team ... or maybe they shoukd get this banner over Andria's locker "martellare la roccia"

El Barto 11-27-2012 03:27 PM

I'm not a Basketball expert, it's actually my first post here, but just looking at his numbers, Bargnani seems quite expendable.

On the 3 wins this season he has been shooting FG .29%, and averaging only 2.9 rebounds.

As I said, I am no expert, but the more i learn about this sport, the less I bear watching him play.

He's not that good of a shooter, unless he's on. You take away the few games where he's fairly hot and his percentages are just abysmal.

The main issue is finding the proper role for this guy, not waiting for his ups and downs to somehow make everything work out.

Sam said the key thing - he hasn't improved his game in any offseason, and looks to improve his game during the season, which doesn't work. He didn't say it, but that approach also hurts the team terribly.
