Sloan is open to coaching again

Think BC can bring him here? What do you guys think about having Jerry Sloan as a coach? For me, that would be an awesome pick up.

That would be outstanding.

An awesome pick up for us and about 25 other teams.

pzabby 04-03-2011 09:51 PM

more like 29 other teams.. i would be in orgasmic heaven if it happened

Gurk 04-03-2011 10:11 PM

There is no way he would come to TO but if he did I would jizz everywhere

Metallikid 04-03-2011 10:33 PM

If we got him AND kept Triano as an assistant we'd have the best coaching staff in basketball. But I'd settle just for Sloan if you pushed me. :mischief:

Why doesnt he go back to the Jazz? It would be much easier on him, he knows what all the players their can do and Deron Williams isnt even there anymore.

Superjudge 04-03-2011 10:44 PM

I saw Sloan talking a while ago. dude is almost in the grave man....

Not a guy you start from scratch with.

Because he has class and that would be a huge slap in the face to Deron Williams and all that he has done with him?

What wood it mater? Deron Williams is no longer associated with the Utah Jazz organization so he really has no say in it. Whats wrong with sayin that the reason he left was cuz of Deron Williams, cuz thats what everyone is makin out to be. Im just sayin it would not feel rite seeing Coach Sloan on any other team. Especially since the team has a couple of good pieces , and if they get a few more guys they should be the team they once were.

Not a guy you start from scratch with.

You take him for 2-3 years to establish a team identity.... and then you hand it off to another good coach.

N.Y. did it with Riley and then SVG.

DET did it with Carlisle and then L. Brown.

CHI did it with Collins and then P. Jackson.

Superjudge 04-04-2011 01:57 PM

He's gonna die. He's very old.

He's just having withdrawl symptoms, trust me.

TORaptor4Ever 04-04-2011 09:34 PM

hahaha... hey, if Hubie's still fighting off the grim reaper so can Sloan!

DonMughal 04-04-2011 10:23 PM

You already know he's not gunna come. No point in discussing it lol

Acie 04-04-2011 10:27 PM

I like the idea of a young coach growing with his team, not dying on the sidelines.

I'll pass.

moujik 04-04-2011 10:30 PM

Never liked Utah Jazz, so I don't want Sloan. I would actually love to have Flip Saunders, is there a chance of that?

I like the idea of a legend mentoring the eventual long term head coach of this team.

Superjudge 04-05-2011 12:33 AM

whatever.

komot 04-05-2011 12:37 AM

sloan understands how to use each player and their talent, he would thrive on this team with raw young athletic players, possibly the same way doug collins is in phillly ATM.
you all preach triano is a good coach but a good coach can get max effort out of his players, triano can not.

however i'm 99% sure he will not come north of the board for a team hes never heard of.

jrob23 04-05-2011 12:41 AM

Jim Calhoun is also 68 why not try and sign him as well? lol
