Slam Online: Demar Derozan interview

Hey everyone, slam online realeased a podcast with one of the writers talking to the rookies when they did there photoshoot in NY. DeMar's part is at 16:46 and is a 4 minutes segement

Here's a recap in case you don't want to go through all of the interviews:

-Asked if he's back in Toronto. Says yes was doing some conditioning workouts and working on his game

-Asked if he knew any of his teammates. Says ya he met Jarrett Jack and Bosh. Didn't see the others since they were either playing for the national team or working out, out of Toronto

-Feels that it will be fun to play and learn form the international players

-Believes that the jump from college to pro is an enormous jump, it's much faster and more of a thinking game, you got to know your opponent and know how to play.

-Still sees his old teammates at USC

-Wants to hopefully be in the dunk contest this year in Dallas

-Says his mom is feeling better, and one of his cousins might stay with him in Toronto for the season.

-Can't wait for the first game he's ready to get going and play

Derozan sounds realistic and legit. He sounds like a good person who understands how hard he needs to work in the NBA. Hopefully Derozan gets into the slam dunk contest. I like what they're doing by having one person not from the NBA in the slam dunk contest. It's going to be Taurienne Fontenette a.k.a. Mr. 720 a.k.a. Air Up There versus Lebron James in the finals.

yeah, I definitely concur.
I LOVE smart players, and I think derozan is a smart guy.

While skills and physical attributes will always be the most imporant, smart players can overcome some limitations. When you combine a strong mind with a strong body, watch out ...

Great stuff to hear, Derozan sounds like a quick learner and adjuster.

A question and also an opinion.. this is what the forum is about, MOM is part of the forum therefore I can state an opinion towards it. When you complain about a Raptors move would you care if I said shut the hell up, that's the way the management wanted to go? Instead of bitching about an opinion, talk about how you feel with the outcome.

just because you can state an opinion doesn't mean you have to... i could follow you around and tell you your posts were crap, but there would be no point in that kind of senseless negativity. i'd much rather contribute to a positive spirit and encourage participation by others.

mom is just supposed to be a fun little thing for posters. the seriousness with which some of you treat it is alarming. who cares who wins? it's just for fun.

I state opinions because that's something I enjoy doing no matter it being negative or positive, and I wouldn't care if you stated that my posts were crap, I don't "follow anyone" around and say jeff should of won MOM, and quite frankly I could care less: i'd much rather contribute to a positive spirit and encourage participation by others.

And again there is little to no seriousness involved with me towards MOM, just stating my opinion, but for you to reply the way you did towards I can't believe you didn't win MOM is alarming.
