I really dont' know why NO does that deal. They're not even using Andersen.

With a couple of years of bad trades and free agent signings, BC had a good year with the Bayless and Barbosa acquisitions. Its time to shore up the small forward and center position.

To keep Chris Paul... JJ is one of his best friends... But if the results are not here, that trade is useless. CP3 is gone anyway.

BC has done a good job assembling a young, athletic frontcourt, and with bringing in Bayless and Barbosa, it's time to shore up the starting SG position. SF can work itself out with Kleiza, Wright and Weems....

I just hope Jack makes the playoffs at least. He deserves that much. But it definitely looks like we got the best of that one.

With Barbosa and Bayless, the Raps have finally have a guard or wing position that are real threats of getting to the rim. Both players have the first option of driving rather than shoot first. Weems and Derozan want to get the rim, but don't have the handle to beat their man clean off the dribble.

Bayless has until the end of the season to prove he can actually play the point. Personally, I hope he learns fast, otherwise he might find himself "not in our long-term plans".

He's at the very least our future backup once Jose is dealt.

C/PG positions need to be addressed by the end of next summer. SG is another position that needs to be shored up but the other two spots are far more pressing imo.

I don't think you're going to see the C position addressed. Unless they are moving Bargnani, or trading Davis or Amir, this team is fine up front as long as they continue to grow together. Maybe a backup is brought in that is a legit 7'.

SG is a huge area of concern. I love Barbosa longterm here, but as the 6th man that spends time at both guard spots. In fact, Jose, Bayless and Barbosa is a very good threesome to have going forward. With an upgrade at the starting SG spot, this team could be very good.

I agree.

If we get lucky we MIGHT be able to snag a C (Camby? Nene? Gasol?).... but I'd say that SG is a spot that's probably going to be easier to fill with a pretty good player... be it by trade or draft.

I'm comfortable with Jose and Bayless at the point going forward.... call me crazy.

So you think Jose should be here after this season?

well if you move Jose then you start Bayless.. Bayless is not going to play backup to any one else

Obviously if we can move Jose in a package for a decent (much cheaper) back-up PG I'd be all for it.... but right now I think that a defensive C and a quality SG are our most pressing concerns.

It's not the worst move. Jose is an ultimate team guy and he has shown this year that his D can be better.

Better to keep him than to give him away. We have other trade pieces to use that are more valuable in that scenario.

I'd argue our biggest need is a SG, as we have young defensive PF's that will grow to compliment AB. Find some backup C fine, but Amir and Davis are still improving.

Boy the differing opinions of what we need on this board, i think really reflects the type of team we have. lol

I still say PG/C needs to be upgraded with Bargnani going to PF. Ultimately i'd love a young dynamic PG (draft, trade, FA?) and a defensive center (ala Chandler). The 2-3 positions aren't great but i could live with them for now.
