Pure fantasy talk right now, but Simmons does an article on Page 2 with ESPN regarding the upcoming "trade season" and players values. Some pretty funny stuff, but the most notable one is what he proposed between the Raptors and Grizz.

Maybe if Gasol wasnt injured all the time and playing so bad. Right now I wouldnt even think of it. People need to stop letting a few games after an injury cloud their judgement on Bargs. He was playing pretty well while starting, and his ceiling is definately above Gasols.

I like Bargs, but really, he needs that fire. I don't see it. I don't know if he does have it in him. You don't think having Garbajosa, Navarro and Calderon on the same team wouldn't renew Gasol? This would be a PERFECT deal. I'd do this deal. In a heartbeat.

I can't honestly say I wouldn't make that deal if I'm BC. I'm not a huge Gasol fan but there's no denying he fills some needs and the combo of him and Bosh would be beastly to say the least. Navarro would cover the outside shooting we'd lose...the only thing that suffers a bit is defense but Rasho isn't going to be around forever anyways.

I'd have yelled a firm and resounding "No fucking way!" before the season.
Now? I still say No, but nowhere near as emphatically. I think it's too early to give up on Bargs but that deal is certainly intriguing - at least it would be without including a first round pick. Gasol isn't exactly over the hill, and likely just needs a change of scenery to rekindle the fire a bit. |

Gasol, like Bargani, would have same problem fitting this team while Bosh is in it...
None of these guys (Bosh, Bargo & Gasol) can play 3 or 5 and being that Bosh is best of them he would always start as PF... I think Raps were hopping that Bargo could develop to be their starting Center but so far it doesn't look good... he looks lost and he is even worst then he was last year where he, at least, knew that he is Bosh backup and that he needs to score... this year he has no clue what to do and right now he commits 3 fouls and 2 turnovers while scoring zero in 10 minutes... like it or not these are pure Haffa stats... I am starting to sound like a broken record when it comes to Bargs. Too much has been put on him being unable to play the low post, I say big deal. Go back to where his strength is give him the ball away from the basket, this would force his defender away from the basket, here Bargs would be able to shoot the 3 or 2, drive to the basket, he is pretty good on the dribble and most big men will have trouble guarding him.He can still post up and get the ball with his back to the basket but why all the time. Bargs is struggling because he trying to play a game the Mitch wants him to play a game that he is not ready for so I conclude go back watch tapes on watch what he was doing well, you will find that you have a hell of a player sitting on the bench.

Stop putting all this on Sam... the architect Bryan Colangelo all the way down to Sam and his staff want AB to play the 5 spot. I dont' like it either..or at least in the traditional sense..i like how he played last year... but let's be fair to Sam...it's not just him out there forcing AB to learn something new and uncomfortable. |

Yup, blaming Sam for our problems became old 2 years ago. I'll admit his substitions, rotations, assignments, etc. are questionable at times, but players are just as accountable for their actions as much as Sam is. I'm glad Sam is showing Bargs some tough love because at this point he has to earn his minutes and not just assume he's going to get star treatment because he was a first overall selection.

Although I like little Gino Guido... our team would be better this instant if BC decided to go for either Roy, Aldridge or both... And BTW... my panties are in a bunch... but that's because of my fat ass... ![]() |

My issue with Bargnani is not that he is missing his shots we all know he can score and hit long range shots... no issue there but look at the Roy... this guy is not just a good shooter he is awesome in every way and even if his game stops improving and he stays at this level he'll be good, really good for any team he plays... Aldridge showed that he can improve... since last year he added bulk & some post moves... he improved his defense and is more confident in his offense... what did Bargo do? Nothing... nada... not a thing... worst thing is his game regressed, his shooting is way off, I mean dude is 7' tall and his rebounding is at the same level as TJ's... also he hardly ever blocks any shots, he is completely lost on defense and he has no post moves... and please, don't even get me going on his turnovers and constant traveling...
I mean, this kid has talent no question there but many guys came in pro sports looking like another Jordan, Ali or Pele but now are nowhere to be seen... right now when I look at Bargo all I see is another Darko... ![]() Is he on drugs, is he injured, tired or just bored with the game... I for one have no clue... but BC gambled Raps future on him and he better make him snap out of his funk... |
