I don't think it will happen, but I remember Yao had a tag of being soft too, and then one year (I think it was his third year in the league), all of a sudden, he had a little bit of a mean streak, it helped his game, and it transformed him as a player. While it may be a bit too late for that for Bargnani, I'd still like to see it, as we've seen occasional passion out of him.

Maybe once there's more to play for, we'll see a little bit more passion out of Bargnani, because let's face it, we're probably stuck with him for a few years.

Yeah, the team sucks defensively overall, but imo Bargs/Jose are probably the biggest problems. They're two of the older players and are what they are. Guys like Davis, the Johnsons, Bayless have promise on D and still have room for improvement. The coaching here is also pretty horrid on the defensive end. Julian Wrigh also plays good D, but that means shit since he doesn't play anymore.

We'll see how people feel when DeMar is 23-24 and making a ton more money.

Yes this team is brutal as a whole. But with Bargnani getting the majority of minutes and manning the middle, there is little or no resistence protecting the basket which is supported with the article above. Time for some defence for C position:

Feeling they weren’t capable of attacking the basket because of the interior presence of Kenyon Martin and Nene, the Raptors hoisted up jumper after jumper, with each miss giving the Nuggets a chance to score in transition. “It’s tough for us to score inside, they’re a physical presence,” said Triano. “Those guys (Martin and Nene) are big, and then Andersen comes in and he blocks five or so shots. They’re just a bigger, stronger, physical team.

Replace the 20ppg center who plays no defense with a center who gives you 10-15ppg and plays defense.

Where are you getting that C from??? It's not that easy. Teams all around the league are looking for C's. Miami, Houston, Charlotte, NY, Orlando, Atlanta among others are all looking for C's too.

Triano is fucking retarded for constantly giving Bargnani full starters minutes playing the way he does, unless BC or some higher authority won't allow him to bench Bargnani it doesn't make any sense, ESPECIALLY when his shots aren't falling.

There is no accountability on defence with this team, nor has there been in a couple of years, look at the way Hedo is playing in Orlando vs how he played for us, we need a coach like that that the players respect and are inspired to give their all.. frankly i can't see that happening under Triano.

Who said it was easy? It's what we do, discuss what we think this team needs.

How about putting in dorsey as centre and Bargnani as a power forward for a bit. See how that tandem works. You can rest reggie and amir. Put davis or JJ at the SF position. And make sure you got barbosa and derozan or barbosa and Calderon as shooters on the floor as well. This may work against big centres.

Well we're not gonna get much for him...
Might as well turn him into a 7 foot gun off the bench. He should be our Barbosa big man for 15-20 mins a game.

Get Ed on a mass gaining program and there we have our centre. PJ Brown 2 with blocks!

id rather see Dorsey in there to at least provide some resistance, i wouldn't start him but there's only so many times in a game you can see players go at Bargnani before you gotta think about sitting him down. also id like to see JT experiment with Ed and Amir on the floor together more as well, them being undersized is better than Bargnani being over soft lol

that's exactly how i feel

hopefully by next season this will be the plan but i doubt it.. although BC did try and acquire Chandler for a reason.. #here's hoping.

Many games have shown that Amir and Ed paired up equals opposing bigs pounding the paint on offence. Amir is constantly dealing with minor injuries as it is... do you think there isn't a physical effect on these guys going against bigger players? Ask Poppa Horford.

For that reason we should keep reggie and utilize dorsey a bit better. He has proven to be good under the net.

It kills me to see everyone hate on Bargnani, sure, he may lack intensity but on the right team he'd be deadly, specifically one where he doesn't have to man the middle or be counted on for most of the scoring load. On this team though, he looks bad.

Also we don't hate Bargs, we just know he can be a more complete player but it is up to him.
