The deal seems to me to have been more than discussed before this Nash shit went down and side tracked everything.
If they ok'd the move, that hardly removes BC from accountability. It was his ridiculous ploy. He owns it. Rogers and Bell own the team, and will need to act appropriately, assuming they care. If the results are good then this goes away. But if they aren't good, then this looms very large. Large enough to effect the Rogers and Bell brand, or ratings at the very least.

Money aside, imagine BEING Landry Fields? It's gotta be stressful as public enemy number one, maybe he should stay late at the gym every day.

I'd be surprised if this author has even seen Anderson play. To say he hasn't done much isn't fair. I'm in favour of playing Ross in lieu of Fields, but at this point he should probably be splitting minutes with Anderson. I'd start AA, bring Ross in for extended bench minutes. It's the only way he's going to get better. Valanciunas is like a pylon on defence, but again - we're not winning the championship this year - might as well get his feet wet.

To those Fields haters, leave him alone for couple more games!!
We should be worried about Barg's poor performace, rather than Fields.
Let's hope both Barg and Fields can prove something for our next game.

I don't understand it either. Lets pick on the role player. Not one of the leaders of the team who has been here the longest with Jose, who takes 9 more shots than Fields per games and makes .333 of his shots, logs 30 minutes per games and grabs 3 boards at the power forward position. Yes, I'll put the majority of blame on the personnel decisions of the Raptors on Dwayne Casey.

If Casey benched Fields at this point, then he's not helping his own situation. He is in a no-win situation. He either takes the fall for his boss, or risks falling out with his boss. I do think he will need to stand his ground fairly soon regardless, but he isn't there yet.

What Don Vito said. Also the start of the season he was getting a lot more than that. He even started a couple games.

I've seen more than three games for Landry.... he blew all last year, and the second half of his first season. he's just not good enough to get significant minutes... though we've got a few wings like that. As for Bargnani, we don't have another option at PF that can give more sustained quality minutes.

That might be true but Ed gets no love when he does play good, and he has with the limited minutes that he gets. Against Brooklyn he was a big reason why we made the come back and what does Casey do? He brings in Bargs for him and leaves Aaron Grey in the game instead of taking him out. That was the reason we lost that game.

Ed didn't suck sat the halfway mark. Casey hands out minutes to younger players pretty cautiously. Even JV, though starting, isn't getting huge minutes.

I'd like to see Ross play more for sure, I think he earned it last night. Give him about 15 MPG and go from there.

It's funny you see it this way for Casey but not for BC. BC has bosses too. Do you really think BC was the only reason the Raps went after Nash? You don't think he was pressured strongly by upper management to bring in a Canadian vet that would undoubtedly increase their fan-base and revenue?

I have no problem holding people accountable, but we should at least be consistent in holding EVERYONE, not just the people we don't like anymore, accountable.

Ross should get more minutes, but he's not being under used,it's not even 5 games in. He's also not ready to start,he can earn starter minutes coming off the bench by doing what Casey wants him to do. This is what has Alan Anderson ahead of the game.

agreed, AA has earned his spot. Ross isn't ready for 30 minutes a game but he does need more.

Everything is a gamble but who says he was the one that came up with the idea in the first place? He certainly didn't go personally to see Nash which is highly unusual - regardless of a co workers wedding. Everything was last minute and when Nash signed elsewhere the Raps moved on to Lowry and rather quickly.

If BC had done nothing regarding a Nash signing attempt, then look out, posters here would bash him for 'how could he' and 'what if' and 'because of BC we missed our chance at the playoffs' and blah blah blah

The ploy I was referring to was signing Fields in order to handcuff the Knicks. I half ways get the idea of going after Nash, but going to the extent of grabbing Fields at such a high price is beyond dumb. Even if they liked him and didn't consider it a risk. He just wasn't worth that contract. BC loves to try to look smart with deals like this, but it's just yet another sign of no blueprint being followed.

His first year he was a ROOKIE. And still led ALL guards in rebounding and shot close to 50%FG and 40%3P. WTF??

Last season was a debacle for the Knicks with the exception of the Linsanity games. No one except Melo looked good when he was hogging the ball. In the month of January (during Linsanity) he avgd 10/5/3 on 48% shooting. After that his game fell off a cliff.

Still too early to jump the gun and write this kid off.

And as for the contract concerns.... 3 yrs @ $6M yr is ridiculous? Shit, after this year and the next we could trade him easily. Again... WTF?
