Default SI.com: "Why Raptors might trade O'Neal"

Thoughts?

"I don't worry about that (trade) stuff," O'Neal said. "At the end of the day, I know what I can do and I will continue to prove it. If it doesn't work out (in Toronto), then it doesn't work out." O'Neal and a second-round pick of the 2008 draft were traded to Toronto for T. J. Ford, Rasho Nesterovic and Maceo Baston in July. The addition of the 6-foot-11, 260-pound O'Neal with all-star Chris Bosh was expected to produce a strong frontcourt, better rebounding and tougher interior defense. But O'Neal plays the same position as Bosh, the team's leading scorer and rebounder.

Man these ppl from Oregon got a beat on things, Vince coming back, JO going out.

JO will be traded sometime in the future, but im thinking next year when his expiring has the most value and he may be close to a double double guy to boot.

Don't know. I think they should trade him next year. Right now he is the best plyer and the only one carrying the Raps

But considering how well he's played as of late, is his stock as high as it can be right now and possibly down the road? Sure his contract doesn't expire for another season, but its not like he isn't contributing right now. I don't know, something to think about at least.

the guy has a point.
right now JO's stock is at an all time high. BC should look into listening to all the proposals that come his way. He failed to pull the trigger on a Bargs deal when barg's stock was soaring, and look how thats turned out; Bargs is pretty much bargain basement now.

JO's stock is high, we can be risky and ride his legs some more and see if he keeps this up, or sell now while teams are interested.

I think JO isnt even in full game shape yet, we will see more of him barring an injury, and realistically it will be a team that wants the contract off the books moreso then a good player, even a hurt JO could net you something nice from a team looking to rebuild, something really nice.

All the more reason then I say. If we as fans realize that, then I can't imagine what the scouts think. I'm all for it, not to mention there wouldn't be any emotional ties to such a move either.

Him and Bosh don't seem to compliment eachother. I'm saying the experiement is over. Hell, start Hump at the C. He wouldn't hurt us all that much and move J.O. for some useful pieces and let's see then.

Sell high. Put Bargnani in at the 5 and let's see what he can do.

I would hate to see Jermaine go, he brings interior defence and an edge that we've never had in a long ass time. However, if we can get some valuable assets by trading him than i guess it should be done. I would rather trade Bargs though, too bad his stock is low as hell

JO + Bargs + Moon/Joey

for

Biedrins + SJax + Belli

Would GS want cap room that much so that they can just start over in 2010 and maybe nab a big FA?

How sweet would that be... sigh... to dream

Collangelo got fleeced badly. JO will never put a 6 game string together without getting hobbled. Man this whole team needs to be gutted.

Let's just get rid of the underachieving bust who has had more than enough time to pan out and justify his first round status and lets get on with it.
