Should The Raps Go After Sergio?

According to Marca.com Sergio Rodríguez's agent has requested the Blazers to trade him.

Should the Raptors bite at the chance in acquiring him?

Shit.. if he's unhappy with the 13 minutes he gets a night in Portland, he's not gonna be happy coming to Toronto.

I would make a pitch, if he was included in a package for Outlaw or Webster.

Meh, I'd rather have Fernandez and Outlaw or Blake come this way.

he got 13 minutes a games in his first season, he is getting 9 now. And never in a regular way.
Never being a big fan of him, but the way he gets treated by Mcmillan is pretty embarrasing. He has asked to be traded many times, and Mcmillan always says he wants to keep him, yet he doesnt give him true chances.
He was the leader in the league averaging assist in the offseason with 8, and Mcmillan said Sergio was hes second point-guard and that hes defense and shot had improved.
Then he sits him when you least expect it, or when he makes a little mistake, yet when others make mistakes they dont get the same treatment.

I actually think that keeping him was manouver to make Fernandez happy.

The thing is that if Blake was playing well I would understand it, but he sucks right now.

Sergio, and I repeat, never liked him a lot, would be a huge improvement over our PGs.
Will Solomon hast been bad, but if he cant improve, I say go for Sergio.

wow, hadn't watched that news. Anyways, it's only his agent talking about Sergio's situation in the Blazers, that doen't understand why they signed one more year to him if McMillan doen't trust on him and saying that Sergio is going to be never a half court PG (what all the people know), what is supposed to be what coach wants.

Says that only what Sergio wants is to play if he deserves it or not playing if he doesn't deserves the time, but not playing 2 minutes here, 2 there, without any continuity.

Problem is that although Sergio is the second PG (McMillan said), Roy is playing some minutes as a PG so Rudy and him can be on the court without getting a small backcourt, so he is just playing 5-12 minutes.

Sergio stats:
Against Rockets:
S.Rodriguez 11:25 0-3 FG 1 OFF REB 2 DEF REB 6 ASS 2 PF
0 TO

Against Jazz:
S.Rodriguez 07:10 0-2 FG 0-1 3P 1 OFF REB 3 ASS 1 PF 0 TO

Against Suns:
S.Rodriguez 13:40 2-2 FG 1-1 3P 0 REB 0-0 FT 4 ASS 1 PF 0 TO

Against Spurs:
S.Rodriguez 09:12 1-3 FG 1-2 3P 2 DEF REB 2 ASS 2 PF 1 ST 1 TO

Against Lakers:
S.Rodriguez 05:05 0-1 FG 0-1 3P 1 DEF REB 0 ASS 1 TO

he's laying dimes in limited minutes. He'd be perfect here - he'd get a lot more minutes, but there's not much we can offer to pry him away from Portland.

He'd be a great backup PG, but I don't see what we could offer without damaging our already thin wings and frontline. Only way would be in some sort of package or if we gave up a pick. Would they take something some Kapono, Moon, and a 1st for Outlaw and Rodriguez? Probably not.

he was awesome when i saw him play in the 19 and under euro cups.s

the kid has great set-up skill but won't be as effective with our half-court game. smitch will hate his d, too.

i'm not sure if i favour him of getting roko those minutes.

really hard to make a deal with portland that works for both teams. i don't think they're in any hurry to move him. but i agree with belsius that sticking with sergio (and not bringing over kapponon(sp?) was with the intent of convincing fernandez to give up megabucks to backup roy.

Rudy Fernandez should definitely be a guy on BC's radar. My friend's shitting all over me with Rudy in NBA 2K9. Not to mention he's tearing it up in real life too.

I love both Fernandez and Sergio.

Rudy would be my first pick but I think that Segio would be a GREAT backup to Jose.

The Raptors are short on tradeable assets, so if they are going to make a move anywhere, it has to be one of impact. This wouldn't make any sense.
