Should BC extend Calderon's contract now ?

Jose continues to start for the Raptors and continues to play well, his stock is at a all time high right now.So should BC open up talks and try to lock him up right now ? Jose is saying all the right things, he is such a team first guy, he is willing to go back to his role when Ford comes back. How many players in this league would say that ? I think deep down that Jose wants to be the starter and play more but this guy will not let his personal thoughts disrupt the team. Therefore, if he is not resigned before the season is over I think Jose Calderon will not be a raptor next year ?

no real rush he is an RFA....but i would like to see it happen sooner than later.

Some way, some how Jose will be a Raptor for years to come. Even Colangelo said so himself, and BC doesn't lie.

Anyhow, your worrying about nothing raptor123. We'll be enjoying Calderon for years to come.

Can they negotiate and sign him to an extension during the season? I didn't think they could.

Acie. you are correct. They tried to extend him this past summer, but once the season starts, they can't do anything about extensions until July 1st, 2008.

Even if he could, why would Calderon want to discuss his contract now? Sure, he's not a FA, he's RFA, but discussing a contract now wouldn't benefit him...but wait, you are his agent right raptor123? Lol...
