Sell High

I think this is the right time to deal Jose for some picks &/or etc. Maybe we can raise the stakes on the bidding process.

Won't happen. And this team will be painful watching Bayless as the #1.

We're just that most nights with him.

DDUnreal 02-12-2012 08:36 PM

Don't get me wrong I want him traded this season. I just can't see it happening. Bayless can't stay healthy & is inconsistent. Barbosa needs to come off the bench. Carter can only play limited minutes... so lol Forbes?

Dark Knight 02-12-2012 08:38 PM

Time to sell high on both Jose and Barbosa. Neither fits our youth movement and both are respected around the league by other GM's. I'll take my chances with Bayless until next season.

Sign a halfway decent PG from the D league or Europe on the cheap. Fuck it, we're not going anywhere with Jose in there this season anyway. Maybe we can get Fisher as a throw in. Then keep him as a 3rd PG next season if he doesn't opt out. He's better than Carter. Jose for Ebanks/Fisher?

Jose/Blake >>> Fisher/Blake

Kobe would demand a trade if Fisher ever left town.

As for a cheap guard, I hear that kid Will Solomon is avaliable. Word is he's gonna be pretty good someday. :dancing:

Bring back Roko. He had some serious talent, we never gave him a real shot.

The hip-holding assassin? Hell yes.

We're tanking, we're not going to be a contender with Jose... its time to get with the program. We trade Jose and lose more games for a higher pick, I don't see what your problem is.

DDUnreal 02-12-2012 09:19 PM

BC did say everyone's expendable other than Bargs, so hopefully he surprises me.

LX 02-12-2012 09:25 PM

Portland could use him. And they have pieces we could use. I'd like a decent pick though.

I don't think he even said other than Bargs. Nor should he. Not in the context of getting big value in return to build on. You don't get anything good without giving up the goods.

That would probably create quite the PG controversy over there with Felton already on the roster.... POR does have some nice pieces though.

Superjudge 02-12-2012 09:40 PM

you're always looking to upgrade. If Jose could net us a fantaastic young gun, then hell yes trade him. if not. you dont

Felton and Jose could be a decent tandem. Probably too pricey though. They really do need a more than just Felton. They do seem to have trouble completing the puzzle there. I don't know if Jose would do it either, but maybe they give it a try, just like they have with any number of guys.

Beans 02-12-2012 10:17 PM

I think it's more likely that I'm going to be cheering beautiful Jose/JV pick-n-rolls and lobs next year. I don't trust BC enough (or I don't think he's lucky enough) to actually make a good trade for Jose.

ValanciunasFanboy 02-12-2012 10:38 PM

Portland won't pay 10 mil a year for a backup point guard. nor would any other team, it makes no sense.

you'd have to look at teams where he's a clear upgrade.

who are the buyers for a Calderon level starter though? Utah maybe, for Devin Harris. Lakers for Luke Walton and a pick?
I'd imagine Dallas might want him but they seem determined to clear cap for this summer.

and idk about 'selling high'.
I imagine any buyer would look at Nash first. if you are a playoff team and want a starting PG, and you have anything of value to spare, that's where you call.
