Default Season Opener

Home against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Shaq's debut.

AP and Moon back in the ACC (although moon's been back already).

New-look Raps.

Let's see what we got against the East's best opening night.

ACC will be ABSOLUTELY BANANAS.

Anyone planning to go? I am

I'll go if I can find decent seats. The good thing is Lebron can only score 30 as he will have to shoot with Shaq clogging up the lane (for another 30).

I doubt it. I predict a 108-99 win.

its not a miracle if a playoff team beats a top 5 team in the NBA

The Cavs are at least 20 times better than the Raptors and that's speaking optimistically. It would take a miracle to dethrone the King and the Diesel.

so that means if the Cavs get 60 wins the Raps will win 3, optimistically speaking

Not likely. Bad man to man defense and no time to work on team defense. 10 new players. An unproven coach. A potentially injured starting PG. A rookie starting.

I hope they can win but realisticly their odds of winning are pretty bad.

Early games, especially the first couple, mean very little, and can go either way regardless of how good or bad a team involved might be. It'll be about working out the kinks on both sides.

No skill wise. Not all of the teams are equal. The teams that are 10 times or more better than the Raptors are the Cavs and Lakers. Skill has nothing to do with record. Washington was one of the most talentedr teams last season but sucked.

Somebody make a thread for, "What will you do if the Raps beat the Cavs on opening night." Similar to the OKC one from last year.

How about this, if I'm at the game, I will run out onto the court screaming "I can't believe we did it!" and start hi-fiving the Raptors before they go into the locker room./ Too bad it will never happen...
