What, no AJ Burnett?
And what about Shea Hillenbrand?
That guy is the definition of a douche.

After Hillenbrand drew a picture of a sinking ship in the Jay's locker room, he became a legend in my books.

Also, using the word 'douche' makes you a douche IMO. I mean, what happened to 'square'?

Wow. They regard Bosh like he's Noam Chomsky. Is he really that well spoken? Really?

I just don't understand why this can happen, but if Toronto's GM fires back, or doesn't conceal his true opinion of the guys talents, people here flip out.

Dude is the enemy now and seems pretty happy to fuel the fire.

It's probably been explained at least three times now: Colangelo is a top executive in an organization worth hundreds of millions of dollars. Not only is it poor form to have your executive behave unprofessionally, but it's even worse when you rely on that executive to attract talent to an already beleaguered franchise.

Psychological studies have repeatedly shown that refuting a lie rarely makes a difference to the public en masse, and often works counter-intuitively, instead reinforcing the falsity. So I'm not sure that Colangelo really gained anything by coming out in the media. Instead, he added fuel to the fire. Sure enough, a couple days later you get big mouth Turkoglu responding and throwing the Raptors even further under the bus. Had Colangelo just kept quiet, everyone could continue to move on and forget about a player many here were convinced wasn't franchise material anyway.

Bullshit.

You're saying that a franchise player is allowed to behave unprofessionally? A franchise player who makes much more than your executive. Your franchise player is as important as your executive in giving your team an identity and a face. When your franchise player starts making pathetic claims about your city, it's harder to attract talent.

Beleaguered franchise?

All Colangelo said was that Bosh was cleared to play and Bosh chose not to. Period.

First of all, Chris Bosh no longer plays a key role in attracting new players to Toronto. He's already left, which says all that really needs to be said. To say that he and Colangelo are on equal footing on this matter is simply ridiculous.

And you also failed to quote the key part that explained why I thought it was ridiculous to respond, even for the seemingly noble purpose of clearing the good city's name.

Uh, yes. Not sure if you're familiar with the 15 year history of the Toronto Raptors, but it's not a particularly celebrated one.

1. I'm not sure I need an internet aided quote to explain Corporate Semantics to me, I already work there, I know the score.

2. Colangelo's number one job was to protect Chris Bosh. He no longer has to. You cannot point out one thing he mentioned that was either new, or a lie. Nothing he said was slander, and nothing he said was malicious.

In fact, most of your post is bullshit from where I'm sitting. No personal offence meant, we all have our opinions, but really, there is nothing there to draw from, and your assertion that Brian Colangelo acted in an unprofessional manner is rubbish.

Colangelo's number one job was, and is, to build and maintain teams that provide MLSE with a regular income stream. Whether what he says is false or malicious or innocent, he needs to do what is necessary to build the best team possible. I don't see how his comments contributed positively to that goal; in fact, I can only see them serving a negative purpose, and indeed much of the fallout since he made those comments has left this organization in a largely negative light.
