Very interesting...

Nash for Moon, Kapono and Calderon..

Leaves us with what 6 players on the roaster and into the luxury tax?

I don't have any sound. Is this just ridiculous speculation?

this reeks of desperation move. Just awful. not only does it bring us an aging PG, but it also leaves us a few players short of a full roster. haha.

Times are desperate - that much i know.

Maybe it would just be better to rebuild.
(can't believe i'm actually thinking this).

No way this trade is going to improve Raptors. We already have a very expensive player in JO, with Nash and Bosh's salaries there is nothing left to have the supporting cast for a championship run. Also, we are still a quality SG/SW short and giving up Kapono/Moon along with Calderon the SG/SW became even more problematic. I guess is pure speculation given the connections between Nash, BC & Triano.

IF this is true, I'm guessing that we're gonna go 8 deep, see what Nash could do for Graham's career and ride into 2010 with a shitload of expiring contracts and a ton of capspace. Essentially, stay competitive for 2 years and then build through FA.

If that is the plan, then we truly haven't learned from history. That being said, Calderon would fit in Phoenix since they went to half court basketball.

It could be just me.... but somehow i don't think a "championship run" is even on the bloody radar of this team.

but yeah - this trade proposal is an odd one.

Honestly i think both PGs are more suitable to the teams they would be traded too, that being said, who we will get to fill the rest of the roster?? Hassan Adams and friends?

I heard this yesterday as well.

You know what? I'd do it. (based on some assumptions).

Assumptions: MLSE must be wanting to win now and willing to pay for it.

So assuming my assumption is correct here's why it works. Aside from ticket and merchandise sales going through the roof(Nash's jersey would outsell Bosh's!) it brings us the type of point guard we need... steady, knows how to run a team, loves the coach can drive and kick and make all our players better and shoot the lights out.

Yes he's older than Calderon, but he's got 2 more years left as a top tier point guard with the way he takes care of himself...and his deal runs out in 2010. Meanwhile he grooms Roko Ukic who i dont' know about y'all but after watching him last night I know this guy is going to be good when he learns to shoot!

So we have increase ticket sales, 3 allstar caliber guys...go pick up some bench filler going over the cap and go for it now. Then in two years we're major players in the free agent pool if it doesnt' work out. Fans are thrilled ot have Nash on the team, managment looks great, ownership looks great...everyone's happy.

Also, no to Barbosa. He's up there with JR Smith in the do not acquire category.

The deal is Nash, Bell and Hill for Jose, Kapono, Joey and Moon

We would only have 1 spot to fill......

Honestly, thinking about it, i feel the same way, i make this deal, Calde just isnt the type of PG we need right now, and as said above, we would be in crazy good shape come 2010. Not to mention Nash would probably come back stronger then ever playing in his home country, im sure we would get two allstar calibre years out of him.

Wait, add in Bell and Hill? Or even Diaw and Lopez, its a must do imo!

Raja Bell would be included???? Just to have him I say sign me up. He'd add some balls to this team.

well now that the "revised" version is mentioned with the addition of two other players,
giddyup and get it done.

No way is this trade happening.

We're dreaming here IMO.
