Default Sam Smith's Take on Where Bosh Might be Headed

BULLS: Bulls may deal 17th pick in 2010 NBA Draft

Quote:
What about Bosh?
-- While Iím at it, what about this one for Bosh? Though Iíve heard teams like the Nets will make a run at Chris Paul hoping to shake him loose with new ownership and cheaper guards like Darren Collison, the larger speculation is the Hornets might move Collison. If Toronto is going to lose Bosh, a sign-and-trade involving David West and Collison would look awfully good for the Raptors, who are said to be looking for a point guard and are interested in moving Jarrett Jack. That would enable them to replace Bosh and upgrade with a young point guard, a win for the Raptors. Of course, the key would be getting Bosh to go to New Orleans. No, he wouldnít be the No. 1 guy. But he would be the No. 1 scorer as Chris Paul is one of those players who makes teammates much better and makes you a better scorer. Maybe that appeals to Bosh. Again, he may be the toughest one to figure as Houston also is said to be a contender and could present a Yao/Bosh front line with a top coach and strong backcourt of Aaron Brooks and Kevin Martin.

-- And then thereís what may be shaping up as the most likely destination for Bosh, Cleveland. If there is any so-called free agency summit itís not going to involve Dwyane Wade because everyone pretty much knows heís set in Miami and wants the full max deal, which Miami wonít help him get with a sign and trade. LeBron isnít playing with him, and if you pair up with someone, it may as well be LeBron. Though the big issue for Bosh also appears to be a sign and trade. Thereís really no one in Miami as Toronto has zero interest in Michael Beasley. But a Joakim Noah-like center in Anderson Varejao appeals a lot more to the Raptors, who want to play around their stretch four, Andrea Bargnani. There are combinations that would make sense for the Raptors, like perhaps unloading Hedo Turkoglu and Jarrett Jack and getting Mo Williams. Would LeBron, Bosh, Antawn Jamison, J.J. Hickson and Shaq be enough? I guess first things first for the Cavs, which is trying to retain LeBron. There also is said to be interest from their common agent agency to pair up, and not in someplace like New York with a decimated roster and neither with a sign and trade and thus maximum contract. As we get closer, the possibilities only get larger.

So it would be Bosh, Hedo and Jack for Varejao and Mo Williams? Yuck.

OK Sam smith has no idea what he is talking about. Remind me to skip any post that says SAM SMITH. How in the world would the Cavs only trade Mo and Side Show Bob but get back Bosh (18mil est) Hedon't (10mil) and Jack (5mil). The numbers really add up.

varejao is not a center, he's a PF. He's as good defender, but he's not the rebounder/shot blocker that noah is. And he's older and commands a much higher salary.

varejao is a good piece on a contender, but he would have little value for us at this point in our evolution, if we lose bosh.

He does make good points in terms of Cleveland being a better place than most for two guys with the same agent to pair up. Varejao could easily play C. He played C often enough in Cleveland and could be used as a 4-5 guy here. And unloading Hedo could play into things as well.

Would it be the first option for the Raptors? Probably not - but it's about where Bosh wants to go - that's where they need to start. If they can do a S+T with Cleveland that solves more problems than it causes, and is deemed better than just letting Bosh walk, then it's entirely feasible.

But it is Sam Smith, and I don't want to give him too much credit.

I disagree a little about Miami. I would take Haslem + Beasley + Maybe Cook for Bosh, I like Haslem i think he is great down there in the paint hussling etc

Beasley needs to have the ball in his hands to be effective, quote "The number 1 Guy on Offense" he could have that if Bosh left + Cook is just a Contract player that you bring in + try out

Or Throw Jose in the Package + bring Carlos Arroyo in maybe

But your right when you say Cleveland have nothing to offer, because they dont

If that video from NBA.com is up to date, Then i see no reason why Bosh would leave Toronto. I mean you heard him

"i dont want to be an addition, as a kid you dream about being the man. I have that position in Toronto and to give that up and go somewhere else to be an addition would kinda defeat the purpose of my dreams"

So if thats what he is thinking at this moment in time, i see him returning to the Raptors 100% based off the video + I hope as a Raptor fan that he Returns! because he is a Damn Good player we could do without losing

But your right when you say Cleveland have nothing to offer, because they dont
Beasley we could trade for him for Joey Dorsey a player that never played for Toronto one minute. Miami would be quite happy with the deal.

Haslem is a free agent and wants to stay in Miami a S&T would need to be done which would overpay him.

Toronto had Carlos Arroyo he is also a free agent and he is so bad our trio of PGs looks good.

If there is a trade it will be draft picks period.
