Sam Smith: Nash to Toronto Could Happen

Don't kill me guys .... I'm just the messenger.

Nash still has quite a bit left and would be hugely popular returning to Toronto. Barbosa can be a two guard scoring option while Lopez is a defensive big man to complement Bosh. The Suns get a point guard for the future and perimeter big man to complement Stoudemire, though they take on some contracts.

Sorry but some of the writers really need to stop and think.

a 5 for 3 trade? all our good young guys gone?

would leave 11 guys on roster.

JO would then Have to be dealt in a 3 for 1.

Nash, JO, and Bosh is an instant eastern conference title contender.

Bosh, Bargs, JO, Jose, are lucky to win a round.

I don't think some you understand how many easy looks Nash will create for Bosh and JO.

Trade Caldy not Bargs.

Nash can run the point for a good 2-3 years which will give Ukic ample time to develop.

Maybe
Calderon/Kapono/Parker/Graham for Nash/Barbosa

I know that trade wont happend because Andrea is in the mix. BC didnt move him when he looked bad, he wont move him when he is looking awesome.

so, the raps would then look like this:

Nash/Ukic/Solomon
Barbosa/Solomon
Graham
Bosh/Humphries/Lopez
JO/Voskuhl/Jawai

The starting five is definitely better, but the second unit will be absolutely terrible!

I agree with Snooch that JO would then have to get moved to shore up the roster... the raps will need a starting SF, back-up SG, and a decent centre.

But, I really don't think BC is going to move Calderon and Bargnani.

I'm assuming it's a joke - no real NBA writer would put something like this on paper, for fear of being ridiculed for the rest of his career ...

Toronto would not trade Bargnani for Nash straight up, everybody knows Nash has AT MOST two years left in his career, and his numbers are down significantly this season, signalling that probably this is his last high octane season ... Lopez is a 9th man if that and barbosa is a tweener who only thrives in a run and gun system and has a bad contract.

It almost sounds like Colangelo would be trying to recreate Phoenix II.

If that deal with the Suns went down, you can be sure he'd be trying hard to flip JO for Marion. Then plug Lopez in at the 5.

If that did happen, you'd have a starting 5 of

Nash
Barbosa
Marion
Bosh
Lopez

That's a very good starting 5, but the bench would be "turrible"

Leave out Bargs and I would consider it

But I don't think Phoenix is as trade desperate as they were a month ago anyways. They're red hot

It's been the acquistion of Jason Richardon that has revitalized this team. I wouldn't want to face Phoenix in the playoffs. I think they're going to be dangerous.

A really bad trade. BC probably heard this trade and hung up. Bargs will never be dealt as long as BC is the GM.

There's tension between Marion and Nash. You're going to see one trade or the other, or neither one at all. Simple as that.

Eastern confrence contenders? Yeah right. JO is always hurt and Nash is getting old! Don't like it.
