Default Rumour: Raptors in Sign & Trade Talks with David Lee?

Quote:
The Knicks’ David Lee was expecting calls from the three teams with the most cap space for a straight-up signing – Detroit, Oklahoma City, and Memphis – and figured to generate sign-and-trade talks among the likes of Chicago, Toronto, Golden State, Miami, and Dallas.

Sounds pretty flakey to me, but who knows.

Guess it makes sense to assume that with the whole Bosh thing here.

The only way we'd get Lee is trade Bosh. Ideally it would be a straight signing knowing you have a good offer for Bosh for wing players. But it looks like they threw our name out there because of the flexibility we have and no other reason.

I'd trade Bosh for Lee 5 years, 42M, starting at 7 and Robinson, 5 years, 28M, starting at 4,5

We'd be able to resign Shawn Marion (or Turkoglu - it would be a caucasian line up) and Delfino

Calderon/Robinson/Ukic
Delfino/Robinson/DeRozan
Marion/Delfino/DeRozan
Bargnani/Evans/Marion
Lee/Bargnani/POB/Evans

Calderon about 32min, Delfino about 32min, Marion 36min, Bargnani 36min, Lee 34min. Robinson 28min, DeRozan 10min (he plays blowout games), Evans 15-20mins and POB 5-10min

I think I just threw up a little.

Anyway, this was on RealGM, take it with a grain of salt:

Source: Knicks Will Offer Lee $32M Over Four Years

Jul 01, 2009 9:54 AM EST

A team source told the New York Daily News that the Knicks will offer David Lee a four-year deal worth $32 million.

Lee, a restricted free agent, is believed to be seeking $10 million per year.

The Knicks want to retain Lee, but are also trying to preserve financial flexibility for the summer of 2010.

"There's no question he'd love to stay in New York," agent Mark Bartelstein said Tuesday. "But you are only a free agent so many times in our career, especially in the prime of your career."

League sources indicated early Thursday that the Raptors are contemplating an offer to restricted free agent David Lee.

Any offer to Lee, by definition, would be in the $8-$10 million range and would test the Knicks in terms of their willingness to match a hefty offer.

Toronto is still considering whether or not to attempt to beat Portland's offer for Hedo Turkoglu.
