I think he'll get less. He's basically Landry Fields - great defender but very little offence. I think he'll get around $3M.

I would rather take a chance on Wesley Johnson. He's developing into a pretty decent defensive player, he's a good shot blocker at 3 spot, and he has a decent offensive game.

If the Raptors let GV walk, Rodney Stuckey would be a nice addition as a combo guard off the bench. Marshon Brooks would be worth a look.

If MU is looking for value from a stretch 4, BJ Mullens could be the guy.

Kaman and Okafor definitely should be looked at as backup centres.

monroe isn't good enough on offence to offset his not good enough defence for the money he'll get. Pass on him

Pau would be great. Vet experience this team sorely needs as was evident in the playoffs, and a tutor for JV, while still being a fantastic player. I would love him on a 2 year deal with a TO for the third. I don't think we'd have the money though.

we need a backup wing who can drain 3's and play lock down D on even the big wings. Sefelosha's a good call. Can we pry away tony allen somehow?

backup center who we can get for less than 2 million but who's more servicable than a gray. preferably a vet. Kamen a nice shout.

But I repeat. Stay away from Monroe. I don't like his attitude, and his play leaves something to be desired. For 7 million i'd say sure (if our cap situation and 2016 goals were different) but otherwise no.

if Monroe could be had for 12ish mil, It would be a mistake not to sign him, but imo he will get max or close to it.

I like Monroe as well, but I don't know how him and JV would work. I think we need a more mobile dude at the 4 who can block shots.. like DeAndre Jordan type.. that is why Amir worked all this time, the issue with him is that he is undersized.

but then again if we get him we would be a better version of Indianna

Why would Monroe sign a short term deal? he is young and will get multiple offers. It makes no sense. Pau I can see agreeing to a 2 yr deal though.

Agreed. Was just responding in general to a sentiment further upthread that we should look to sign either of them and still preserve cap room in 2016 for Durant.

He'd be another short term fix, but may benefit JV as his daily opponent. Also would he even come off the bench? Or are we doing some twin tower starting lineup with him and JV?
