Would you do it? Would they do it?
Kings have no need to deal a future first rounder for DD and have that rookie SG that they boast.

DD could play SF, but I agree I just made this up based on article

No, he's really not that good. Hes Gay with slighty better scoring/shooting, and worse in every other aspect of the game, by how much is irrelevent. You can disagree all you want, really makes no difference to me.

I think you severely lack sarcasm sensing abilities.

I'm the guy u want to fight on deroxan. Unless we're getting a top 10 player back or a guaranteed high lotto pick in this year's draft this team would be taking two steps back with this move and we'll all once again be crying for a great wing player like we did for the latter half of the '00 decade

We are on the road to getting a guaranteed high lotto pick in this year's draft when we trade DeRozan as our first step.

Why trade derozan? If you all are really so damn obsessed with tanking trade Lowry. This team will be god awful then. We're already what, 6-12? Imagine Having one of buycks stone or Augustine as your starting pg.. With casey at the helm...

There's absolutely no need to trade DD. Wouldn't you rather have a wing combo of DD and one of the SF's in this draft next year than just the small forward? With dd staying and the added sf if he pans out we could be top 4 contenders in the east (if we get a decent coach)

In a dream world we trade lowry, tank, get a top sf,aybe even wiggins, sign lowry back, and we have...

Lowry/??
Dd/ross
Wiggins/fields
Amir/TH
Val/???

Huh. I must be watching completely different games.

Of course your comments could also be directed at many a perimeter star in the league.... Harden... Melo... Kobe... Westbrook... etc.

If it makes you feel better to pick on one of our own, a kid who's busted his ass to improve and is knocking on the door of playing at an all-star level.... well go right ahead.

Not only do we want to tank, we want to extract the best assets we can with our spare parts. Our highest valued assets around the league are perhaps Lowry, and DeRozan since JV isn't getting traded. Maybe even Amir. This is why we trade your beloved DeMar fucking DeRozan.

trade DD now would ba an aberration.
when you have a top 10 player at his position, you don't trade him.

i don't think our problem is dd.
DC need to bench Gay one our 2 games, and make him understand what is going on !
the guy seel to think he is to good for us.trade Gay right away not DD.

Nobody is saying DD is the problem. But I'm all for selling high while you can depending on the offers. Who else you going to trade if rebuilding. RG for .50 on the dollar? Kyle Lowry's expiring as a rental? JV? If you want to rebuold properly DD must go.

yeah sure, trade the only asset we need to keep to biult properly a team.
you don't sell your only assets.

when a ship sink, you save what is savable, not the garbage.

so i hope MU will not sell DD, Amir and JV. because we those 3, you have already a nice core to build.
after that, MU need to make smart move.
smarter than trading DD.

So when you want to rebuild, sell off your less desirable assets instead of the one that can help you the most? And in the process pretty much ensure that said player in question is on a losing team for the first 8yrs of his career? You keep him and by the end of next season he'll demand a trade, if not sooner because of all the losing which won't help his trade value in the least. You really think DD will want to be part of another rebuild here with no end in sight?

As much as I would like to keep DD, I realize he is one of our only pieces that is going to net us something good back in return. Just like the majority of people have said here, we need to sell high because we are going into a full rebuild mode. People seem to forget at times we had Bosh playing at a high level the last year he was here, and instead of trading him for a nice package, we kept him and he walked at free agency. What did we get in return nothing. We had Bargs (yes I hate him just as much as anyone else) and he played well for 12 games like 2 years ago and his stock was high. Yet again we kept him and his stock went down. I know we got a decent package for him, but that's just because Knicks management is fucking stupid. We can't afford to make the same mistake again.

Because we are in rebuild mode the goal needs to be acquire really young assets and 1st round picks for this years deep draft as the whole point of a rebuild is to develop your rookies and 1st, 2nd year players together as a unit. It's no good following the same method we have for years in keeping 3-4 players and replacing 8-9 every season because they don't get the time to gel together.

Why do so many equate wanting to trade DD with thinking DD sucks? This team is capped out, they need to right the ship. If trading DD helps that cause and brings a good return of draft picks or cheap young prospects, then so be it. We've all seen some improvement, but he's a long way from being an untouchable star player. As Jeff said, we can't risk this guy becoming a malcontent, and we've seen countless examples of him being frustrated both on and off the court at both players and refs while ignoring the fact that his own play has largely contributed to the culture here most of the time.

I say explore away, but obviously it has to be great value coming back because you're selling based on what some think he can still become.... and maybe he can. Sell high Ujiri because then even if he does reach it, we'll have gotten good value anyways. If he platesus again from here we'll have lost such an opportunity.
