This is coming from a poster at RealGm who says he knows someone who knows Rubio. As if i need to say it, take it with a grain of salt. But boy how i hope he's not full of shit.

Quote:
Well i have two cousins that live in Barcelona and they talk to Ricky every week at their local gym.

Now you probably won't believe me but Ricky told them that he wants to play with the Raptors and only the Raptors.

BC apparently is already on this and Ricky knows whats happening.

Ricky Rubio will get traded to the raps this season

grain of salt taken

one good thing is he gives effort on D, sometimes over aggressive
good passer too
hope we can get him, but I know Kahn is in love with him right now
probably wants Caldy here

Kahn is the worst GM in the League. He might accept Bobby Brown for Rubio. Straight up.

I'm still not sold on Rubio as a stud prospect, but he's more young talent, which is the right path to traverse IMO.

he's like 19 or 20

is the trade with Miami complete? cause I could see

Toronto: TPE, Rubio, 2011 pick
MIA: Bosh
Minny: Beasley, 2011 Heat first

There is speculation (on realGM - so the most baseless kind) that the Beasley to Miami for the 2nd rounder is being pushed for by Toronto in order to send Beasley to the Wolves but still allow us a larger TPE in order to absorb Al Jefferson in the Rubio deal. This is all pie in the sky stuff - but I'll take baseless speculation indicating a possible franchise player coming to the Raptors over nothing at all.

So Minny essentially gives up Rubio for Miami's 1st rounder? A pick that will likely be in the late first round? Don't quite see it.

The speculation leans closer to something like

To Miami: Bosh + Minnesota's 2nd round pick
To Toronto: Jefferson + Rubio
To Minnesota: Beasley + ?*

*whatever they would want to even out the trade, such as Toronto's 2011 first rounder.

Again this is probably all BS but that's the thought anyway.

If you had to choose?

Okafor/Collison or Rubio/Jefferson

I don't really see why everyone is saying Kahn is such an idiot (aside from the recent Darko thing which was just :facepalm. Rubio was the BPA with the 5th pick, and Flynn was possibly the BPA with the 6th. To say he should have taken Curry is revisionist - there were lots of issues with Curry not having the size and court vision to be an effective NBA PG.

Everyone shat on him for taking another PG after Rubio, but what was he suppose to do, take DeRozan or Jordan Hill with the 6th?

As long as it's not our first rounder. If we have a chance to be drafting some stud point guard prospects in next years point guard heavy class, man would we be kicking ourselves.

I dunno if Rubios game will translate to the NBA where defenders are much faster and much more athletic. And there are huge big men.

I say you give them the first rounder. Rubio should have been the 2nd or 3rd overall pick and slipped because of his contract situation. I personally don't think Toronto is going to get a pick much higher than 7th-8th.

Rubio/Jefferson. I'll always take the deal which includes a possible franchise player over one that doesn't. Jefferson's contract sucks, he doesn't play D, and he's injury prone. But that said he's a possible 23-11 guy when healthy. If he gets hurts then it just helps our lottery aspirations.

Jefferson has 3 years and OK4 has 4 years, right?
I would take the lesser contract

come on guys, i like the sound of Rubio here as much as anyone so i can't blame Jeff for posting the story, but "2 cousins from Barcelona that go to the same gym as Rubio"??? It's a little far fetched to be taken all that seriously. I DEFINATELY wouldn't get me hopes up or even consider trade logistics at this point.
