Roy: Miller The Right Choice

Quote:
Looks like the Trail Blazers signed the right free agent this summer after all.

Nearly eight months after Hedo Turkoglu went back on his word and spurned the Trail Blazers' free agent offer in order to sign a similar deal with Toronto, the Blazers exacted a measure of revenge on Wednesday.

And the player who led the Blazers to a 101-87 victory over Toronto was none other than Andre Miller, the player who was not Plan B, but Plan C on the Blazers' free agent wish list.

Miller had 18 points, 10 assists, seven rebounds, three steals and no turnovers to trump Turkoglu's near-perfect night when he scored 24 points on 8-of-9 shooting.

"Even though Andre may not have been the first choice, it has come down to him being the right choice," Blazers star Brandon Roy said. "The way he has been playing for us, he has been our most important guy because of how consistent he has been."

The right choice just because he had a better game than Turkoglu on one night? An isolated incident to say the least? Oh....okay....

I will admit that I love Andre Miller's game and it's fun watching one of the least athletic guys on the court school everyone.

Miller's body control and upper body strength is one of the best for a point guard in the league. He can post up pretty much any other 1 in the league and score. I was impressed to see him come down with rebound time after time over Rasho and Andrea.

Good point, dude has an extremely low centre of gravity. How awkward is it for a defense to deal with a guard dominating in post-up scenarios? Miller really puts the defense in tough spots. You can't double team him because he'll pick you apart with his passing, but if you don't double team him he destroys your guards down-low. Tough player.

Miller signed a 3 year deal for way less money and is playing much much better and much much more consistant. Roy SHOULD have said its the right choice, and its not even fucking close!

of course he is going to say that, he would be stupid if he said we should have signed Turk

Most of you guys see little passed stats, highlights and Nike commercials.

Brandon Roy is best suited to comment on what was best for his team. You don't win championships with great players, you BUILD TEAMS.

For what that squad needed, Miller probably was the best pick up for them, and how the fuck do a bunch of doorknobs on RF know better than an allstar player who's actually there?

Fucked if I know.

Roy must say so.
He is a very good player that love to have the BALL like Hedo does.

Portland+Hedo will be way better than Portland+Miller...especially in playoffs!

Andre Miller has ALWAYS been a great player and a solid PG.

He's just had very bad luck with the teams that he's gone to.

He was probably my favourite college player of all time when he was at UTAH..... crazy versatile game and he has a TON of heart.

Good for him.

It's no secret Roy loved playing with Steve Blake.

I guess he and Dre are finally starting to mesh.

Yes, he did and no too long ago (before Blake was moved) Miller complained about his role.
