I watch it and still wouldn't have been able to recall Evans' name or that he ever won it. I was guessing Nate. It really has become beyond lame.

Yep. In fact, AV (after Vince) it went downhill in a hurry. All these gimmicks, all the blown dunks and endless repeat attempts, the lack of creativity...

They should either scrap it altogether, at least for a while, or come up with some radical changes to the format to make it compelling again.

In fact, out of all the "skills" competitions, the 3-point shooting contest is the most interesting to me by far. Not flashy - just real skill.

the fact that the dunk contest winner is voted on is the stupidest part of it all, when it comes down to it its just a popularity contest then, it was pretty blatant the year blake griffin was in it, when demar got hosed in the 1st round just cuz they had to guarantee griffin got into the finals so they could use their KIA car advertising

No, it's just me and the respect I have for what he did that night.

I hope he goes for the 4-peat in 2016 in Toronto, assuming he's still here by then.

Could be interesting, but we are just going to have to wait and see. As long as no props get involved I'll be happy.

True.... but let's not forget about J-Rich. It was an absolute travesty that he and Vince never faced off. Could have been 'Nique vs. MJ Redux. Shame that T-Mac never did it again either. I thought it should have been he and VC in the finals that year.

Wasn't sure where to post this:

Quote:
Paul Coro: #Suns center Miles Plumlee will be in the All-Star weekend's Rising Stars Challenge as a replacement for Atlanta's Pero Antic, who is hurt. Twitter @paulcoro - See more at: HoopsHype - NBA Rumors
I still don't get why Ross is not in the Rising Stars Challenge with JV. At first I thought the league was going to start to only allow players to play in 1 event, but after seeing guys like DD, Curry, Love, Wall and Lillard being put in multiple events, I don't understand why Ross is not in the Rising Stars Challenge.
