Rosen Doesn't Think Much of JO

Charley Rosen doesn't think too highly of Jermaine. :(

Well funny thing is, I've never thought highly of Rosen's opinions. So take this for what its worth. Nothing. :evillaugh:

Charley: It just so happens that I'm not a huge Jermaine O'Neal fan. Despite his imposing physique, he's far from being a power player. Indeed, he's repeated on several occasions his reluctance to play the low post. Also, his defense is barely adequate, which eventuates in his being in chronic foul trouble. Plus, he rarely delivers when a critical game is on the line. So don't be deceived by his numbers.

The key word in your last sentence is "if". He hasn't played in at least 70 games since 2003-04 and is rapidly approaching his 30th birthday.

I completely disagree with this guy.But i have heard other basketball broadcasters say that O'Neal disapears in the 4th quarters of games.I don't buy it,but i've heard it.

IggyPosterizes 07-22-2008 10:16 AM

Well it's a good thing he's not here to be the primary player, and he knows that.

Snooch 07-22-2008 10:30 AM

Could be said that Bosh disapears as well in 4th quarters as well. Its attributed to the fact that teams are going to totally collapse on interior players at the end of close games. The team assembled now will help to prevent that.

Rosen is an idiot who watches 1 or 2 games and then bases his opinions entirely on that.

Adequate Swag 07-22-2008 10:40 AM

His defense is barely adequate? Hilarious.

He's been between 3 and 4 personals per game his whole career...thats chronic foul trouble?

Interesting that John Hollinger, a guy who does nothing but analyze NBA statistics and is considered one of the be basketball minds in the business, referred to JO's defense as the most underrated in the league. Kelly Dwyer said the same thing. Yet to Rosen it's barely adequate?

I guess that's why he's underrated...

And there a few big men in the league who consistently deliver when the game is on the line. Teams pack the paint against elite big men in those situations and it becomes a guards game.

the_ raps_analyst 07-22-2008 11:13 AM

yeah thats true late in the game its up to the guards and also its not that bosh disappears. They double him and put more pressure on him and we have nobody taht can step up.

Exactly, but point I was making is that Rosen sees 1 or 2 games and bases his judgement on that. Bosh missed that shot at the end of Game 2 against Orlando so that means Bosh is a choke artist. Same as Jose when he threw the ball away in game 6 against NJ.

Rosen basis all his stories on his own persona opinions and rarely ever bases them on statistics or fact. That alone is why he is a serious idiot.

you should change the thread title to 'Rosen doesn't think much'

he flops more than a fish out of water with his opinions.

LX 07-22-2008 04:08 PM

The comment about his defense is just bizarre.

Only thing i agree with is, he likes a mid to close range jumper way too much... his post game isnt what most ppl think it is.

moremilk 07-22-2008 09:42 PM

who cares about his post game (he's better than rasho or bargnani, that's for sure), where he needs to make a huge difference is on defense. We never had too many problems scoring ...

Apollo 07-22-2008 09:49 PM

Rosen is a douche. He absolutely never has anything positive to say about Raptors. So much so that I would almost label him a hater.

Most Americans in sports (writters, broadcasters) love a certain player, then when they go to the Raptors they rip them or call them overrated, over the hill and say that the Raptors made a bad deal. This deal for the most part has gotten good positive comments from most. Fuck Rosen!

Hehe, Ali Mohamed

As for his comments, meh, it's Rosen. He rarely ever makes sense; he always talks out of his ass and it works: everyone gets pissed and reads his stuff.
