Well who cares about other team's and their fans? Not our concern. While I dont' share Thrillers' zeal on the subject I agree with him. This is just my opinion but i've never undestood why people who get so angry at their sports teams remain fans... sports is supposed to be entertainment...make your life more enjoyable..why let it get you worked up?

That's just me.. and yes I think it's not classy at all to boo and want to run one of your players out of town...no matter whether you think the player is best for the team he's trying his ass off to help your team win, management and his players believe in him so cut the guy some slack I say.

Boo and slam a guy that gives up like Wince did...all day long! Not trying, not hustling is the cardinal sin in pro sports..that's the ultimate dis to us fans. Trying too hard perhaps? That should be reigned in but it's not a dis to us..he's trying to win, in part for us. You really should respect that on some level and rather than pray for him to be traded, hope that he can get back to really making this team better like he did early in the year and all last year... and if BC sees fit to trade him, he will.

They used to boo Camby even though he was devastated by the trade to New York and was quite happy being in Toronto, but that's their right as purchasers of tickets.

I hope they boo Mo Pete too.

who's running the guy out of town?
i dont see any signs saying Trade TJ... nor do i see any articles in the paper saying anything about that...
you're blowing this way out of proportion.
a few boo's and you think its the end of the world.
the guy plays like shit for one game... nada... plays like shit for 2 games... nada... plays like shit for three... nada... by the fourth game, fans get a little upset so they boo.
this is sports, this is what happens in sports.
its why they have big arenas filled with seats... its the reason these athletes make so much money... fans have the right to boo or cheer when ever the hell they want. and if they want to cheer TJ, then cheer him... if they want to boo him, be my guest.

trying too hard is one thing, but ignoring your teamates, talking terrible shots and sulking on the bench is another.
if what your saying is right; that we should applaud him for "trying so hard", then we shouldnt mind what he did in that orlando game, we should give him a standing ovation.

trying hard at the expence of your teamates is not worth the effort.
how about instead of trying hard to score (and fail), you try hard to pass the ball instead!
i'm pretty sure the fans wouldnt mind that effort.

I think it's more of a case that the fans are realizing that he's (TJ) is trying to do too much and is unappreciative of it. We all know he has enormous talent - we're just frustrated that he's not using his all-world talent to the best of his ability. We expect better out of him. He's got teammates, he should learn to trust them. He can't be the hero all the time. Then again, when Bosh went down last year, it was TJ who lead this team, carrying them on his back. TJ just needs to shake off the rust, learn to trust his teammates and just be unselfish. The booing isn't malicious, it's more tough love than anything.

That's some nice spinning there There's a huge difference in what Tj's doing and what Vince did. I'm not saying Tj's play of late hasn't been worthy of some serious adjustments but he is trying to win for his team... in this case by doing too much. I'll take that over doing nothing anyday.... this can be corrected...as we've seen with Vince...that can't.

Anyways, if people want to get upset at the Raptors, coaching, management or players...whatever. For me if sports isn't fun i'm not watching..period. The whole point is to bring some more enjoyment into my life. Losing sucks, but i get over it pretty fast. I suppose if other people want to look at it with a sense of entitlement that's their perogative but it seems pretty silly to me

i think the difference between TJ and Vince is that VC was our best player, he was the face of the franchise.
when he wasnt trying, we were upset, but we (fans) didnt really have the proof to indict him of 'not trying', nor did we have the balls to boo "the franchise".

with TJ, its different because the majority of us believe jose is the better player.
its easier for us to boo him because we're not afraid... we get very impatient and want jose in the game.

TJ isnt our franchise, he's a good player who's stealing time from a better player.
add in the fact that he's playing badly; booing is inevitable.

like i said before, the fans werent upset right away... its not till the 4th game where fans started getting restless...
2 or 3 games, fine... but by the 4th game - enough was enough... get your shit together man... fans dont mind seeing their players struggle, we all know its part of the game... its when it happens more frequently and it doesnt seem to be getting any better... thats when the frustration starts.

Well aside from the notion that the majority of Toronto fans think Jose is a better player than TJ, what you say would likely explain the booing for a lot of people. I dont' agree with it and I won't do it myself, unless the guy stops trying...but that's just me.

I'm pretty sure you're right that if there wasn't the option of going with Jose, fans would likely be a little less ruthless towards Tj, and that's wherein lies what Acie and I were saying about the lack of class. In other words, you're only really a bum because we dont' 'need' you. The fact we 'needed' Vince shouldn't exonerate him from his heinous (lack of) actions...but they did because people knew he was our best talent and he knew it too. To me that's even worse. Not only was he not trying, he was using us and exploiting his position with the franchise...inexcuseable! TJ's in a funk yes... but he's nowhere near the level of Vinessa.

i couldnt agree more.

as said before, i myself wont boo the guy... i will however, yell at the tv.
but i wont be upset with the fans that do boo him either.
people know that the toronto fanbase is one of the most passionate in North America.
we love players more than most, and we also hate them too... booing is par for the course.

booing whoever doesnt make you classless, what a joke. Yes your right, paying your ticket does give you the right to boo whoever you want. Fans are really the be all end all boss, since they foot every bill, but we dont have the power to make the ultimate decisions, so booing is our way of letting the coach or GM know how we feel, and it usually gets the point across, i dont see how its classless one bit, its all part of sports and name the most passionate sports cities in the world and i GUARANTEE they boo players who are underperforming, being jerks or w/e. I guess we all cant take the moral high ground like some ppl since we are idiots Fans should run ppl out of town if they dont like them, they are the ones paying them. JMO

Seeing a bunch of clueless puckheads boo Juan Dixon because he turned over the ball or Bargs becuase he missed a shot and then 30 seconds later cheering like the Leafs just won the cup because one of them made a shot is embarassing.

My big thing is why boo a guy who's been an essential contributor the last 2 years who we need to play well to have continued success this year? Only negative can come from booing key contributors because theyre in a funk. It's stupidity. If the guy wasnt giving his all then yeah, but TJ's still working his ass off out there and even though hes struggling he shouldnt get booed for it. Its probably the same dumbass people who came on MB's and came up with scenarios to trade Bosh and said he was injury prone and wasnt gonna be the same ever again early in the year. Most 'Raptor' fans are fucking idiots who dont know shit about the team, and shit like booing TJ just proves that.

And I'm sorry, if you agree with booing TJ for a week or so slump theres something wrong with you too. Stupid thing is if he hits a couple of those layups the same fuckwads who booed him would probably be cheering him instead. Morons.

Oh yeah, and what other fans in the NBA boo rotation players who are going through slumps but still giving full effort out there? You dont even see GSW booing Pietrus even though he cant make a shat because hes still playing extremely hard on defence. Just goes to show that our fans have some of the lowest BBIQ out of the 30 fanbases in the NBA

this is all hyprocritical crap if you ask me.

TJ plays like shit....
you then post something about how he needs to be benched, you rant about how he should be traded, you say he sucks in the game thread.

yet you are upset by people booing him during the game.

thats a load of shit.
whats the difference?

you expressing your anger on a message board saying he sucks (in caps), but booing him in the game is wrong...?
again, whats the difference?

we can say a player is shit on the internet, but cant boo him in real life?

should i go through the game threads and read whats been written by some of you here about TJ, especially the ones who are against the booing.

lets all just boo him behind his back then, thats better.
gimme a break.

you are talking as if you are so above all this and are condemning the fans for booing him, yet you trash him on the web.

I dont think criticizing a player and booing a player in person equate to one another. I think Primoz sucks and has no definite skill but I'm not gonna go to a game and boo him because the guy is trying to help us win games when hes out there and hes playing his ass off. TJ's been struggling lately and I havent been all over him like some of you have on here because I know its just a slump and him trying to do too much while Bosh is gone for one reason or another(probably Smitch telling him t oscore more). Whats the point in booing in when hes playing hard and likely just trying to do what hes told? So we can piss him off and have yet another NBA player dislike Toronto and continue to show how dumb our fanbase is? Is there really a point in booing? Should we boo Bosh when he has one of those 7/22 terrible defensive games too?

I dont boo him when I go to games. I'm not hypocritical about this. I dont see the point of booing our hometeams players/coaches unless theyre not putting their effort into their work/play. Theres nothing good that come out of it.

The fans are starting to boo TJ because I really believe that we the fans are starting to see how TJ is for TJ. Hes a little selfish spoiled basketball player that can't handle not being the center of attention. Fans are just getting fed up with his me first all world attitude. I must commend how the television media has held the reigns on this from blowing up. Everyone has given TJ excuses why he has played the way he has, TJ will not change, TJ will however move to another team if someone out there would take him. This started last year when Jose was on the verge on taking over in the second half.Jose was one pass short against the nets from taking over the stating role for the rapts in the playoffs. Remember how Jose would spark the second unit last year to bring us back into games and some cases to take over some games only to see TJ come back to finish games. It started last year folkes with this negative out look towards TJ. What is making things worst for TJ now is that he is taking quality time away from Jose that is hurting our team to feed his selfish attitude. Mitch is having a tough time trying to keep Tj happy and the fans are seeing it.The fans see Jose on the bench while TJ runs around on the court like a rapid animal. Last year no matter what TJ always came back in the game even when Jose was the better player in the game, it seems that this is not the case this year as you see Jose sitting almost the entire 4 th quarter to protect TJ'S feelings. Screw TJ the little selfish prick, he either accepts being the dixon replacement or get him the hell out of toronto before all hell breaks out.

bottom line, u pay for your ticket you have the right to boo whoever the hell u want, stop being babies. At least they have the courage to express how they feel live, well you cut them up online. Im sure TJ is losing alot of sleep over being boo'ed, hell maybe this will help his selfish me 1st attitude, or maybe it will make the franchise realize thye need to stop making excuses for his ways. Either way, pay the cost to be the boss, you paid $50+ for your ticket, go on boo a guy making millions. You guys are too sensitive or something, booing home team players has happened thru out sports history and cry baby posts about it, or calling ppl names cuz you think you are superior to them means nothing, go buy every seat in the house if u dont want ppl to boo, or stand up and cause a fight confronting the boo'ers and get knocked out cuz u called some1 stupid for expressing themselves, either way, its part of sports and wont stop.
