Raptors Road to the lottery on May 30

I thought we'd start keeping track of the race for the lottery balls. If we were picking right now we'd likely be picking 5th or 6th not with standing dropping or rising of course.

1. Bobcats (4-26)
2. New Orleans (7-23)
3. Wizards (7-23)
4. Nets (8-23)
5. Raptors (9-23)
6. Pistons (9-22)
7. Kings (10-19)
8. Cavaliers (11-16)
9. Warriors (11-15)
10. Bucks (12-17)

That's also most likely where we will finish. Teams gonna win a lot more games with a healthy AB and JB

I remember creating the "tank tracker" thread last year, once Sacramento made their move, and was thinking about making a new one, but didn't get around to it.

Bad loss by the Raps tonight (against CHA), but one of Det or Sac will win in the next little bit, helping the tanking efforts.

I see us finishing 7th, give or take a spot.

If we could get to the 2-3 range going into the lottery we'd be golden. Since the Lottery was introduced in '85, only 4 teams with the worst record in the NBA ended up with the first pick. The most recent being Orlando in 2004.

From previous history, yup. The 2-4 range has definitely had the better odds over the years.

I really look forward to the days when we'll get to talk about playoffs match-ups rather than lottery picks.

Top 5 is all i want. Obviously 1-3 would net us one of Drummond, Davis, Barnes but if we can get at least #5 i'd be happy.

I think we need to make sure that Bargs is completely healthy, so he shouldn't be rushing to come back. Same with Kleiza, dude needs to rest his knee... Might as well give Jose a break and let AC do his thing

And one more thing New Orleans, Wizards and Nets need to stop slacking! Time for them to win some games.

On another note, NBADraft.net has my man Quincy dropping all the way down to our second round pick at 35. Lamb and Miller, that would be a solid draft for us. Trade DeMar for a point guard and we're set.

Barnes then buy/trade for another pick and grab Austin Rivers.

This probably belongs in the Trade Proposal thread, but it's a long season so I hope the mods don't mind.

Brandon Knight
Jason Maxiell
Charlie Villanueva
Detroit's unprotected

for

DeMar DeRozan
Ed Davis
Jose Calderon
future picks/cash

Then we assuming our pick is around 5 and their pick is around 7, we can draft Lamb and then a small forward (Miller or MKG)

Knight
Lamb
Gilchrist/Miller
Bargnani
Valanciunas

Bam. Not too shabby. Then find a way to amnesty Charlie V and/or leave him on a deserted island.

I can't see Miller dropping that far. If there is a reasonable chance of him dropping to R2, then he'll probably stay in school and enter next year.

I actually like Beal better than Lamb, but hard to tell who will be better in the long run.

Don't forget MKG -- Pippen v.2.0.

no, we compete for mediocrity. then wait for a big name to drop to us, and let him be angry at the world the entire summer for sleeping on him and build up inside of him.

then watch him explode season opener.

Yup, Beal has a chance to be a pretty good player in the future. Some sites are comparing him to a young Ray Allen, but I'd say his game is more of a poor man's Eric Gordon.

I've heard some suggest that he could be better than Gordon all around. He's great on D, according to scouts.
