Question Was it right to boo Bosh?

At the end of tonight's game, Bosh blew a kiss to the fans left in the ACC. In a second, the majority of boos turned into cheers.

I was kind of torn apart. Toronto fans could have ripped his heart out by jeering him further. Half of me wanted that. But the other half was glad that he got cheered.

Bosh played 7 seasons in Toronto, and put forth his best effort each and every night. No one can take that away from him. Maybe he did screw up in free agency, and abused Twitter. Does that really make him a traitor?

I think Raptor fans, including me, are guilty of finding a scapegoat to lay all their problems on. It is as if Bosh is the root of all problems. Maybe Raptor fans are just sore losers, and can't accept their star moving on to a new team.

The question to you: is Bosh deserving of all the boos he received today, and should he be booed in the future?

I don't think Bosh deserves to be booed. He played 6 1/2 good seasons for the raptors. most of the stuff we hate him for was his interviews, what he said and signing with the Heat. I think he wants a ttention. I would not cheer for him or boo him. Let's save the boos for turkoglu, a truly horrendous Raptors player on and off the court.

I think Bosh will get boos in the future but not as much as Vince does every time he plays at the ACC

About that half of the season. Maybe he did not give up. Maybe he just wasn't that 25/10 guy that everyone thought he was.

I don't know what I can add that Jack (and most of the people on this board) hasn't already said. But like he stated, Bosh handled his departure poorly. I actually don't see the boo's lasting too long, it's not like he was going to bring us anywhere if he stayed anyway. Nothing to get hung up about for too long.

What Bosh has to realize is toronto fans aren't booing him, they are booing the culture of abandonment this franchise has faced. No other Team has lost so many "franchise" players in such a short history. Its not just Bosh, Vince, McGrady, and Stodamire. Its Alonzo and Kenny Anderson, and Hakeem.

Hakeem and McGrady dont really count. Hakeem retired and the only year he was here was his last. Mcgrady was alrite, but wasnt as good as he was later , certainly not a "franchise player" at that time. He was that player every1 liked but nobody cared much tthat he left cuz they still had vince at the time.

That's what I tell myself to believe too.

The fans are just letting up their frustration on the roller coaster ride this franchise has been through, but at the expense of Bosh's feelings.

What did we learn about Bosh as his tenure as a Raptor? He's a nice guy, loves to joke around, loved the fans and loved Toronto. People never booed Anthony Parker when he left. He accepted a lesser contract to play with LeBron James.

I actually think these are more significant then the others. McGrady left for basically the ability to the #1 guy in his home town. He left a real contender for more touches. Hakeem retired half way through that season.

I think Bosh understands. The kiss he blew to the crowd at the end was a classy gesture that spoke a lot more then his ill advised interviews over the passed year. People booed because he left, and I think he got the message. It's good to see one player humble himself and make a gesture like that at the end. I think still he should have gotten booed in this game, but I gained respect for him after that game.

booing him during the game, intros, no prob with that. fans can do whatever they want and feel, if it was applaud, if was do nothing, if it was to boo, I have no problem with anything and he deserved to be applauded for working hard during his 7 yrs here. he deserved to be boo for the way he HANDLED the whole FA situation, not the fact that he left, just the way he went about it.

booing him after blowing the kiss to the fans - if it was geunine, n not one of those mocking haha blow kisses (i didn't actually see it), then yea i would say it was wrong to boo him at that exact moment if he was really just saying bye, thanks, etc. to the fans.

comon, he's been here for 7 yrs. even tho we learned he's quite the dumb one...he's gotta know that the FANS are smart and passionate in Toronto. that's prob even more reason fans didn't like certain comments he made about Toronto..because he really did have a chance to defend and praise Toronto but choose not to

gotta agree with the first post, I believe Bosh did put his best effort every year he was here. And i mean, if the the organization is not improving year after year, plus all the turnover, guys like that will get frustrated and move out quick. Same with Carter but he really handled it badly and we all knew he wasn't trying his last year here. So I don't think Bosh should get booed nor does should he get cheered, should be just another player that visits toronto thats all

I think for this game yes he should be booed, but after we have to left it go, he made some mistakes in the last two months, summer, twitter, and comments made to the media,

but next game we should just boo lebron like we use to when he was in cleveland and forget about Bosh and focus on our own team

Nobody expected for Hakeem to even be a factor on this team. He was gettin old thats it. Its not he was bailing out on us. And McGrady leavin didnt affect us as much as Bosh did, cuz we still had vince. Like would u be really really sad, if Bosh left the raptors, but we had LeBron? Toronto wasnt really a contender the year McGrady left, it was gettin there thou.

everyone got their boos out. great. but at the end of the day that gesture to the fans was a nice sentiment. im glad he was applauded.

not saying we should applaud him everytime he's here, but im glad that everyone realizes what he meant to the franchise over the past 7 years.

Um...McGrady left after the 99-00 season.

Hakeem was here for the entire 02-03 season. His last game played was Game 5 in the playoffs.
