Quote:

why this image? Well, I minimally blurred the background to emphasize the important space Vince occupies within the collective imagination of Toronto Raptors fans who were present during his emergence and downfall. This blurring also speaks to the way Vince , through a single act or play, could simultaneously erase and emphasize the past and the place he continues to occupy in my mind as the most significant Raptor to date.
He's the stain that persists, defined by many Raptors fans unwilling to let go of the promise and hype that somehow for a brief moment anyway, brought this franchise tantalizingly close to playoff success both present and future.
His body, in full suspension, 20,000 sets of eyes locked in on the impending follow through. A wind mill of potential and expectation, suspended, and finally deflated. A moment in this franchise's brief history where it seemed so inevitable that we would finally make or mark as one of the elite in the NBA. Only to be stopped short.
Raptors fans dreams remain agonizingly linked to this visual. High, full of promise, yet stuck in some kind of self-induced unwillingness to let the past go. An unwillingness to look beyond this moment. Like a lover scorned, and teased, and scorned again by no one other than themselves, Vince suspended above the floor of our minds, the hardwood of our imaginations, coaxes a longing for that day again, a day passed that's we know deep down, will never return.

#3, no question. I was at those games. I never yelled as much in my life as I did for those games. I had a headache for days.

Those red shirts made us a laughing stock. I just can't vote for either of those shots.

It only made us the laughingstock because the Nets had 6 different jerseys, so it didn't work out well for us the first year.

Orlando's was worse. Half and Half?

The second crowd shot is a good pic. Best of the bunch. You have fans standing and cheering, the dude with the yellow cap , front and center, giving a big fist pump. It's got character.

The first crowd shot everyone is just sitting, it's boring.

Voted #1 but didn't like any of them. Only voted one because VC was down but I don't like Moon. Those red shirts were a bad look for us in the playoffs. Like chicks but the dance pack pic didn't do it for me.
