Reuters: Money bags Bargnani ponders how to spend his $$

Quote:
ROME (Reuters) - Andrea Bargnani has earned so much money with the Toronto Raptors he does not know what to do with it all.

Bargnani was selected first overall in the 2006 NBA draft and has recently signed a contract extension worth a reported $50 million over five years.

"I've had so much money since I joined the NBA -- 20 million in the first four years," he said in an interview published in Saturday's La Gazzetta dello Sport.

"I cannot even manage to think about what to do with it. I'm not someone who buys eight Rolls Royces and I don't have strange needs or material dreams."

The 23-year-old, seven-footer acknowledged, however, that given the current economic climate he was glad to have the massive income.

"I'm happy for my family and the security they get from it," he added. "Above all, in this moment of crisis I consider myself a very lucky person."

I like the type of person he is. Unlike other people who spends it all on cars and 30 million dollar houses he doesn.t Good for him and I know I won't see his name in one of those atheltes gone bankrupt lists

If anything, I'd buy a nice Italian villa, overlooking the Adriatic. Or, I'd buy an offseason home in the countryside of France and have my own winery so that I'm set after I retire.

he'll probably open a nice restaurant along college st. i'd go there as long as he doesn't incorporate some swirskyisms either into the naming of the joint or some dishes on the menu.

He's from Rome, he should prefer the Tirrenian see :P
But he could buy a big house in the city center of Rome, prices are around 30.000\square meter.

Haha, exactly.

It's surprising that he can't spend all that money though... if he lives in Rome, I'm sure life is pretty expensive. I remember I watched a program that featured Karl Malone's house. He had a humongous mansion that was worth only $4.5. I can't even imagine how much a house like that would cost in the suburbs of Rome.

Hire a veteran to give up even more post moves and make him stronger! He has improved every season we've seen him but he still has more time to get better, come on Bargs! Give some of those cash to charity too big fella..

He is a humble dude. Judging by his looks, though, he is not going to remain bachelor for long - and then the girl will take all his "how do I spend money?" worries away...

If I were him, I'd invest more than half the money in businesses (Maybe like Yao and open up a nice restaurant, Italian restaurant ..hmmm), and the rest I'd just donate to charities. But that's just me.

There's no rush. He'll find ways to spend a chunk here or there. Art would get me. And financing films like Elton Brand does would be cool.

Haha not if he grows out that beard to Tolstoy proportions...

Taking care of that bad boy would cost a pretty penny too.

Hahaha, growing out a pair of moose balls on his chin would be even more epic than Ben Wallace's 'fro in its heyday.

Damn if I was him I would already have at least 5 amazing cars in my garage, some big mansions, a private helicopter, a golden prada mobile phone etc. You're rich man, spend the money, help the economy
