I've been a huge Lowry fan for about 3yrs. Sorry but, comparing the two is horseshit. Lowry was deemed a borderline all-star and top 10 PG in the NBA prior to coming here. The last 4 seasons (including this one) he's been consistent other then last season which was a season in a new system and was fighting injuries the first half.

13 games?

I am not comparing the two at all, but to say he is a top 10 is a stretch. let's not forget it's his contract year and it's not like he was killing it last year and back then in Houston. Like I said, so far so good but I wanna see if he can sustain this level. It's not like he has been doing it in the last few years you know.

I always said, at his best he's in the 10-12 range. But at the same time, 10-15 range is close between certain players that are bunched up in there and he's in there somewhere imo. As much as he's not likely a top 10PG, he's certainly not as bad as some have said last season. Some were saying he's no more than a very good backup. It's all subjective anyway. Is there a big difference between the 10th best PG and the 15th best PG in the NBA.......and the opinions will always vary once you look at the players outside of say the top 8-10.

There is no question that he is a very good PG and performs well after we shipped Gay.

Lol...putting Kyle Lowry as a back up anywhere right now is stupid. And to think they could do it and he would be happy is incredibly stupid. "Yes its my contract year and I'm playing the best ball of my life, please play me 15 minutes per game".

While it might be stupid, the reality is that he is not gonna start for the Warriors over Curry or Thompson. I think they did the right thing with the Boston and Miami 3 way trade.

ok. but how is it that lowry is seen as a disruptive locker room force when it the clippers being idioctic in this so called scenario.

Lowry is often seen as the Alpha dog, I can see how some teams won't want that in the locker room especially after they were able to haul 2 young players, it's not a huge loss for them knowing he is a rental.

Not sure what's the big deal. It's clearly a legitimate concern, given Lowry's history. It would be a big risk to give serious assets for Lowry and ask him to be Jarrett Jack. Not to mention a waste of his talent.

I agree. He won't like it being a backup and I don't think that he will mesh well and be happy on this situation. Good for GSW to pass on the deal.

You know, people coming off the bench are not limited to 15 mpg right? Had he gone there he would've played a role similar to Harden's in OKC. He'd be their backup PG which is worth probably 12-14 mins itself and could also play in 2 PG sets especially since both he and Curry are good without the ball, which would be probably another 6-8 mins. Then say Curry goes down, he'd play a fuckton. His mins would probably end up around 25 per game if he went there, which is not bad at all. Add to that the fact they're a contender with him (and arguably without him too) and I don't think Lowry gets upset.

IIRC there were issues with McHale back then and with DC last season which clearly tells me Lowry is a great competitor but also a very stubborn one, and some say an Alpha dog. It may not work for some teams, and like you mentioned, I don't understand why people are so surprised.

So once in his career he was upset about coming off the bench when he was the clear cut starter for a year and a half prior to going down to a staff infection. I don't necessarily blame him. I don't blame houston either....he had missed over a month and was out of game shape and with the team playing well, being late in the season in a playoff run putting lowry back as the starter at that time made little sense. that being said lowry felt snubbed and who knows how that was all handled behind closed doors on Mchale's side of things.

Prior to going down with that infection he was averaging 16ppg/7.2apg/5reb (those numbers are almost identical to this season) and was being looked at as a possible all-star. I could see why he'd be upset by not getting the starting role back when he returned, he's competitive.

IMO to black ball a guy in his 8th season for that period of time is ridiculous. And i never saw any issue last season. I remember when he was coming off the bench and he would often be the one waving a towel and cheering guys on. There were rumblings of an issue with Casey but both denied it so to me that's nothing but rumor. Outwardly i never really saw it.

The Lowry/Casey rumbling was definitely a rumor because if it had really occurred then one of the two wouldn't be here with the team now.

No, of course he is not in the same level, but I do believe there were some issues there.

I don't think so, at least not to any degree that would stop me from signing him if i were a GM. But that's me....
