Count me as insane...(as if ir was ever in doubt)

..I'll take Nick COllison, for alot less...Okafor isnt a game changer, and if we are trading Bargs and Parker we best be getting a game changer back.

and if we visit this thread when we have rebounding troubles.....we better visit it when Bargs is our leading scorer almost every game.

I'd like to get Okra-for, but would want to replace Bargs with Kapono if it were at all possible. But that does leave the 2 spot wide open and we're already having problems guarding at that position when the other team's best player is a 2 guard.

GM's are human. Just like Babcock had to hang on and push Hoffa, BC needs to justify the Bargs pick.

Bargs isnt going anywhere for anyone less than a prime time playa.

I dont see colangelo giving up on his prized pick just yet. its too soon and Bargs is what 21, 22? the ego aspect of it makes this rumour in my mind to be a big steaming pile.
okafor is a nice player, its intriguing to think about, but Bargs aint going nowhere, and AP, no chance.
also considering the contract this guy's going to command, for that very reason we'd have to include an expiring contract like delfino's or dixon's so we can resign him, unless he's just going to be a rental which makes even less sense since colangelo is more about the future without mortgagng it for the right now.

I'd do this. As much as I would hate giving up Parker, he'd be dealt anyways next season (as an expiring contract). Okafor is exactly the kind of guy we need inside - he's a post presence - offensively and defensively. Bargs is gonna be a perimeter player all his life. Okafor also compliments Bosh very well.

At first I didn't like the inclusion of Parker, but then I thought that he is getting on in years, is not as consistent as I'd really like and not so much of a deal killer as a result.

I'd like to see a first round pick included, and then I wouldn't think twice about it.

okafor is not even a true center - he's just as skinny as bosh. I'd rather have kaman, and gasol is a class above both of them. If we didn't make a run at gasol, it would be moronic to go for okafor - especially with his history of injuries.

You don't have many players out there in the league who are true centers. The thinking is to put two athletic bigmen out there.

Okafor is as skinny as Bosh? Okafor is 260 pounds. Bosh is 230.

Okafor is a stud. He'd help this team more than Bargnani would.

I hope I do eat my words. but as for right now, all I'm seeing is a 7-foot jump shooter who's afraid of going inside and doesn't get a lot of rebounds.

I'm starting to question whether moremilk actually watches the NBA or not. For one to call Okafor skinny, let alone as skinny as bosh, either means hes blind or he is mistaking Okafor for Oleksiy Pecherov

lol at all those who are ready to give up on bargs. To me, you can only start to criticize him when, and only when, it is irrefutable that his game will not improve and his potential seems over-estimated. You can't make this conclusion yet becasue the dude has had a horrible summer playing for an Italian team in which he was the best player (). this means he did not really do anything to add to his game. Then, on top of that, he comes in this season with the coach telling him hes gotta start playing center, push guys who are bigger than him around the paint and grab more rebounds. Obviously, this was not told of him before the summer, cuz if so, he woulda been expected to hit the gym and add pounds to his body. Now all u ppl who criticize him unjustly, you'll get your moment to scrutinize next season, after hes done the work on his game in the areas he needs to advance in, cuz then AND ONLY THEN, will it be fair to call him out.

Okafor>>>Wallace and AK.

Hes averaging 13+11 with 2 blocks on 53%+ excellent help and post D. In a couple years IMO we'll be fully convinced that Bosh+Bargs will never take us deep into the playoffs because they cant rebound when it matters(or Bosh defend for that matter). BC will have to make a decision who he thinks is the better fit at PF and I dont think theres any question who itll be.

Can any of you honestly say you're satisfied with this teams frontcourt D and rebounding? Comeon. I'm maybe Bargs' biggest supporter since hes come in, even through the rough times this year, I love his game, but Okafor+Bosh+ BC's creativity would give us Finals potential in 2 years max plus a long time to come after that.

Okafors only in his 3rd year too and has played in every game this year so far if I'm not mistaken.

Him and Bosh would be entering their primes together and their styles mesh perfectly. I'd do this deal in an instant, too bad CHA wouldnt.
If Okafor wasn't injury prone I'd be on this bandwagon too; Okafor's 13/11, couple of blocks and solid post D would be a fantastic compliment to Bosh, night in and night out. He's 25 too; perfect age to play with Bosh for years and years.

However, Okafor has had back and other nagging injury problems since college, so I'm not so optimistic about the deal. PLUS he's undersized at the 5 at only 6'10 and this has been an issue his whole career and kept him as a very very good center from becoming a truly great one.

Quick question: who'd you rather have - Okafor or Kaman? Tough choice...

Bargnani will never be a true center and we're all lying to ourselves that he's the 'perfect' compliment to Bosh but I believe with an athletic, rebounding 3 (Marion type) we could be pretty good with an inside/outside combo of Bosh and Bargnani, and Bargnani brings tantalizing scoring skills to the table.

If we do this deal then once again our offense is basically Jose driving and penetrating or Bosh isos; Bargnani has potential to be a legit scoring threat. He's showing it more and more, like a couple dunks off the dribble in the rookie/sophomore game.
-----------------

Also, Okafor is in year 4. Here's his games played per year (rookie season until now): 73, 26, 67, 53+ .
