Default Remember VC Drama

I wasn't around when VC wanted out but it must have been fun seeing all the trade proposals people were talking about

Quote:
Vince Carter might finally get his wish: a ticket out of Toronto.

The Raptors and Trail Blazers are discussing a blockbuster seven-player trade that would send Carter to Portland, ESPN's Stephen A. Smith has learned.

In exchange for Carter, Jalen Rose and two other unnamed players, Toronto would receive forward Shareef Abdur-Rahim, center Vladimir Stepania and guard Derek Anderson from Portland. Toronto proposed the multiplayer deal, Smith reports.

Carter asked during the summer to be traded but the Raptors had hoped the All-Star guard would change his mind. Toronto hasn't made the playoffs the past two seasons, and Sam Mitchell will be Carter's third coach in three years.

Carter told the Toronto Star in the offseason that "It's time for the truth: I want to be traded." Carter also said in a letter to fans posted on his Web site that he's not eager to wait while the team rebuilds.

It seems Vince Carter wants out of Toronto. Period.

"He wants out and he needs to go," a league source, told the Toronto Globe and Mail in Saturday's editions. "He is very, very firm on that. He needs to go. They're supposed to be working on something right now. It might have to involve a third team, or they may have to acquire someone and pass him through."

The source added that Carter wants to be traded to an Eastern Conference team, ideally the New York Knicks.

Knicks president Isiah Thomas "has lots of interest," the source said. "He'd give up anyone on his roster outside Stephon [Marbury]."

Vince Carter is an athlete, not a girlfriend. I'm not sure if you have sexual fantasies or something about the athletes you like, but this is not comparable to a girlfriend.

He did however win us a playoff series. And winning in the playoffs is pretty important to me. When the raps win a playoff series this year (knock on wood) the Carter pic is comin down and Bosh is goin up for me.

Get over it though. He's not your girlfriend lol.

Some of the offers may have been appealing, but you can tell based on the examples that were quoted in the first thread that most of the deals we were getting for Carter were crap. We had a 1st tier star that teams knew we had to trade so they were offering 2nd tier talent for him.

The Knicks offering anyone outside of Marbury - now that cracks me up!!

So great that he printed her facebook display picture and posted it on his wall, refusing to take it down until his present girlfriend agreed to have sex with him.

It was a good one night stand (although he left in the morning before we even woke up, didn't leave his number and we didn't see him again until we ran into him at a club with another woman hanging off him) that wouldn't have happened had Alvin not introduced us in the first place.

He's an anthlete guys, get over it. Not only did he win our only playoff series, he beat us in the playoffs with all of you screaming "VC SUCKS".

It's stupid, immature, and those chants have only cost us games. I blame you all lol.

Say what you want about the guy, we still haven't had a player of that caliber in Toronto since. That being said, he became such a jackass lol..

Chanting VC sucks didn't cost us what? 1 game last year. I mean, even in the playoff games here he wasn't really a factor. You pay your money and you can do whatever you want within certain parameters. I join in the chant. It's a great atmosphere. I'll probably boo him on Sunday.

Oi vey, that trade with Portland sounded just as bad as the deal we got with New Jersey.

He shot 5/19 and 8/24 in games 1 and 2 in Toronto and 58% from the free throw line.

I'd say the VC sucks were working those days.

And, the only decent game he had here in that series the Raps won.
