Exclamation Reggie's Foot

Does anyone get the feeling that it's a whole lot more serious than the Raps are letting on? The National Post quoted Triano as saying they are now sending him to see a foot specialist. I know it's still way too early to say, but I've got a bad feeling we may not see him in uniform at all this season.

I think so too his foot injury isn't a common one, it might not have heald properly...All the more reason to give pops more burn?

affirmative.

I thought a few weeks or so ago i read that they took off his walking 'boot' or whatever it is they call it... but i think during the Miami game when they showed him walking in the tunnel he was clearly wearing one - or at least some kind of a walking splint/immobilization device.

Yep I was also thinking that our roster was stacked, why pick up Pops. This would definitely help explain it.

It's called a removeable cast. I had one this summer when I sprained my ankle. However Reggie's injury is his foot not the ankle, but it still serves same purpose and is much more convenient than a traditonal cast as you can take it off when taking a bath or shower and you don't have to worry about it getting a little bit wet when you go outside either.

Foot injuries can be tricky, the bones down there are much smaller and there are a lot of them. This could explain the Pops pick-up big time.

Maybe we should read more into the Pops signing?

thanks Dr. Wolf.

My point was that i remember a statement about Reggie not needing any cast at all (not sure if it was reggie or the team who made the claim).

Yep - I dislikesd the fact that it was the foot from the beginning. So many bones.

And BTW - he's already seen a specialist when he joined the team on the last road trip. Now it looks like it will be another one.

I like Reggie as much as anyone, but with the way Johnson's been playing...how much are we missing him? He's not going to take any of Bosh's minutes, or Andrea's..it's Amir that will suffer. Reggie would literally bury Rasho, Pops and POB for good when he returned but do we want Amir off the court right now? He rebounds at a very good rate for his minutes and he's not as limited on offence as Reggie. All i'm saying is this has been a good thing for Amir's development on this team and i want him on the court right now to see how far it goes.

With the way Amir has been playing I dont mind Reggie being out for a while more. Better get it healed well than have him on and off the lineup for the whole season.

And I guess we got Pops also to cover.

I love how Amir has been playing, but having Reggie to put out there to defend the pick and roll would be a nice thing to rely on.

I'll tell you where we're missing Reggie...in the preseason his pick and roll defense was the best by a Raptors big man I've seen in years.

Plus, his ability to clear space and occupy his man under the boards and allow others to get "finesse" rebounds is excellent.

That being said, Amir has been probably the most positive thing I can think of this season. Dude gets after it and understands his roll perfectly.

The thing we miss with Reggie is his physicality. In the Orlando game you put Reggie on Carter and after a couple of attempts to go inside and running into a Reggie foul I think we all know Carter would have stuck to the perimeter because he doesn't like getting hit and Reggie hits hard.

NO Reggie NO. I hope this is not a serious injury that can sideline him for the whole year. Hopefully the 2 weeks thing he wrote on twitter comes true
