Reggie: I owe the fans an 82-plus season

I feel like with the injuries and stuff, I feel like I owe the fans an 82-plus season, even though you dont have no control over that. I love the city a lot, I love the fans, the fans are dedicated, theyre loyal, its close to my in-laws (who live in Detroit).

By me having my little boy now, every now and then we may need a little breather or something, go out to eat or something so its always good to have them close by where they can drive down and be with the kids or we go down that way.

It's ok Reggie. If it makes you feel any better, you did more for this team in the month of April than Hedo Turkoglu did in the 74 games he "played" here.

Chiggmo 04-15-2011 12:39 PM

At least he gives a shit. Spread that around the locker room and you can stay:cookie:

too true.

Vet's min for Reggie!!

Dark Knight 04-15-2011 01:33 PM

People love Reggie, but only want to give him the vet minimum to play for our basement team. Hmm... :cookie:

It will be interesting to see what the team decides re: Reggie. Frankly i don't see him with that much of a role on the court. He very much fits the role of teacher/mentor to some of the younger players on the team and not much of a producer. That's not the type of role that deserves much money.

I guess we'll see how much he really likes it here if he's back and depending on what cost.

Superjudge 04-15-2011 03:06 PM

He is no where near as bad as people think.

He's a keeper.

I'd give him incentives for staying healthy that would make his contract worth 2.5-3.5 million. He's a good dude and we need his drive and leadership on this young team.

I would like to see him around, but really only in a limited role on the court. I think having him work the young bigs in practice would be invaluable but he's just too offensively limited to be relied on heavily on the court now that Ed Davis and Amir Johnson have emerged as steadier forces in that regard. Even Joey Dorsey has shown some of the things Reggie gives us but with a bit more offensive polish.

I guess for me it comes down to...good teams have guys like Reggie on their roster. Great teams have guys that do everything Reggies does and everything he doesn't. Do we want to be good or great?

Gurk 04-15-2011 03:46 PM

I would like him back at big paycut from what he is making this year. Like him though

macs 04-15-2011 04:18 PM

I'd love to see Reggie back next year playing limited minutes and pushing the kids around during practice.

forme123 04-15-2011 04:31 PM

dear reggie,

spend the rest of your career in toronto please

thanks :yeah:

ha123 04-15-2011 06:27 PM

BC re-sign this guy! I love players who give a shit about this team. And latley he has been playing good on the offensive side as well. The guy is a keeper and just makes our team better.

Stonezz 04-15-2011 06:30 PM

I like Reggie, good guy to have on the team chemistry wise. Only worth it if he takes a pretty significant paycut though

Raptors_ 04-15-2011 08:38 PM

sign him again we need someone to mentor our guys a bit more

AR1815 04-15-2011 09:18 PM

I want Reggie back. Not for his on-court production, but for his experience, leadership and toughness that translates well off the court.

We have a young, inexperienced team. Having solid, tough vets will help the team mature. If we can get him for the vet's minimum, he should definitely stay. I doubt he will stay here instead of going elsewhere for the minimum though. Still, I think if we can offer him just a little more than the min, he'll want to stay.

That may be a slightly-off reference to me, so I'll try to address it. I think I can speak for the many who have voiced similar concerns, though perhaps I should let them speak for themselves.

My concern has only ever been in Reggie playing 6th man or starter's minutes. With very rare exceptions, one-dimensional players should not be on the floor for 24+ minutes.

If he comes back at a good price and in a reserve role, I would be glad to see him here.
