Reggie Evans Interview on FAN590

I haven't had a chance to listen to it yet, but Reggie was on with Eric Smith and Jack Armstrong this afternoon to discuss his move to Toronto and what he can bring to the Raptors next season.

Give it a listen and let us know what you think. :)

Seems like a good guy, but he can`t say Bargnani to save his life. lol

Bar-AWWWNY??

BTW, E.Smith should replace McClean permanently!

TOAO 06-16-2009 03:56 PM

Basically about physical presence, toughness and hard work. He seems happy to be here.

I don't know if he calls Bargnani "barney".. but it sounds just like it :haha:

Edit: jeff beat me to it :P

Windex 06-16-2009 04:03 PM

Evans should just call him Bargs

Dark Knight 06-16-2009 04:42 PM

Gurk 06-16-2009 05:53 PM

Reggie Evans was introduced as the newest member of the Raptors on Tuesday.

Upon learning of the acquisition of Evans, Chris Bosh said he never liked playing against him.

"That's a good thing, that lets me know I'm doing something good. When Chris says he doesn't like me, I don't like Chris," Evans said, laughing. "I like him now because we're teammates, but I didn't like him either. There's nothing bad about it, it's a good thing."

He promises not to be quiet in Toronto.

“I don’t bite my tongue. I’m not going to look at a Coach, and say ‘Coach tell them.’ I’ll tell them myself. If I feel like someone is not bringing it hard to the table that game or in practice, I’m going speak my mind. If you are going to lag, sit down over there or just go home. I’m going to voice my opinion. That’s just me. I’m a competitor.”

i like this guy, he seemed like a douche at first but now he is cool...he knows his job and wont whine about more mins

gdaytday 06-17-2009 08:25 AM

I think that Evans is s step in the right direction...albeit a very small one. He adds some toughness and grit which you need both in games and in practice.

The thing about Evans is he's a Sam Mitchell guy, which begs the question, why wasn't he brought in earlier. I read that article where all he says basketball to him is about working hard, making things uncomfortable, doing his job and getting in the faces of teammates who don't hustle or go hard.

I think I may have found my new favourite player.

Acie 06-17-2009 09:27 AM

Absolutely.

"Sit there or just go home..."

I like him too and based on what I've seen of him he does bring it, but this team has a way of making even the fiercest warrior a pussy cat. I hope that doesn't happen.

Renihan_00 06-17-2009 09:35 AM

This guys is absolute GOLD.

I love him, he's hilarious.

Love the tough guy who is also a good locker room presence. That's a rare combo.

Renihan_00 06-17-2009 09:41 AM

BEST LINE in the interview:

"...All of sudden it happened and I was like damn, I was shocked, like OH"

haha, reminded me of Chapelle

OMG if he does this I will appoint him as the face of the franchise cuz the one that already is never does this

no the best part of the video press conference interview was "so, reggie what do you think about the city of toronto.

like what the hell are you doing the guy has been here for not even a solid 24 hours. he's gonna have no fucking clue. when he played against toronto. he prolly didn't go anywhere but the hotel and acc.

reggie" uh, it's nice beutiful, pretty, it's pretty, very p[retty, beutiful, pretty, yea pretty, city pretty,it's nice beutiful, and yeah it's pretty" but, it sounded like prirty.

hahaha :yeah:

Acie 06-17-2009 12:32 PM

It is a vald question.

It's not like he's never been to Toronto before.
