Exclamation The REFS HATE for Bargnani

Whats up with the hate on Bargnani by the refs?

This guy gets ZERO respect... He gets these fucking phantom fouls every freakin game!

He's been in the NBA 3 years now, Drafted #1 overall and avg 17 and 6 so far this season and those stats look like there only going to go up.

Last night D12 with 5 fouls got no calls on him in the 4th... Yet Bargs fouled out?

Howard in the last few mins of the 4th set a PURE ILLEGAL screen and the refs didnt call it... fuck even i saw it and i fell off my coach when no call was made!

Can the Raptors file a complaint backed up by some video or something to the NBA?

What were you doing to your coach?

Seriously though I agree he doesn't seem to be getting any respect. I understand historically what some superstars do get, and he isn't one of those guys but some of this is pretty blatant.

Thanks SWAN that was great.

Bargs will get the respect from the refs when he earns it by playing really well consistently.
It's too bad that said respect is just handed to some while others have to jump through hoops for it.

Bargnani does get a lot of touch fouls mainly he is victim to how the NBA game is called. The game last night problably sent a trigger because a lot was going against the Raptors.

1. Great teams get more respect ... Orlando is a top 3 team that reached the finals last year.

2. Home teams get more respect

3. Face it Bargs is just a player as far as the refs are concerned. He isn't one that has demanded respect to the NBA coaching system.

I hate the NBA officiating practises and always will. I always wished more College coverage was available in Toronto but unless u have the package your pretty much duped out of it.

It is what it is

I get giving the benefit of the doubt to the Kobes, Wades, Lebrons, Howards of the league but you've got to draw a line somewhere and not make it so blatantly fucking obvious.

Dwight was getting away with murder on one end, go down to the other end and Andrea can't breathe within three feet of Howard without being called for a foul.

It's not often you can attribute full momentum swings to officiating, honestly it's extremely rare, but last night was a very special occasion for sure. I'm just glad we gave ourselves a 20 point cushion because that shit was downright flabbergasting.

Why do the players have to gain the respect of the officials?

It's either a foul, or it isn't and whatever you call on one guy, you call on the other.

The end. Really. Y'know?

Why do people fight wars, why are people poor, why do things suck?

Just the way the NBA is, gotta take the good with the bad.

1 - that is bullshit.. the game should be called as it is played.. fouls need to be called on BOTH teams, this star treatment shit is ruining the game! PERIOD

2 - except when the home team is playing in Toronto

3 - the Refs are the ones trying to earn the players respect, and you do that by calling fair games, not ass-kissing the stars...

Its always been like that. Its the business of the game. You don't like it watch some NCAA or CIS you have some less political driven ball there.

It had more to do with Dwight than Bargnani.

Dwight looked like a talentless oaf once again last night...but "he's the greatest young big" in the game.

That's a tough position to be in when you're reffing in Orlando.

And Bargnani does get a certain measure of respect from the officials. Remember when they used to call his footwork ridiculously tight.

Bargnani has now mastered the pivot foot in the key...shuffle...shuffle, "whoa, my pivot foot is out of the key now and I didn't even dribble". Very reminiscent of Vince catching the ball a foot inside the three, shuffle..shuffle, a little bit of magic, now he's outside the three without taking a dribble.

Not to mention he's had some Lebronesque 4 step layups over the past few weeks.

I can't remember the last time I saw him get called for travelling.

If its a foul, call the foul first then look at the name on the back not the other way around.

I think if more teams complained and im sure it happens to everyyyyyy team something might be done.

Teams are allowed to gather tape of calls they deem unfair and send the evidence into the league office every week I believe.

Doing a lot of good isn't it?

Problem is the GM can't complain .. the coach can't complain and the players can't complain. If they do they get fined heavy.

Now the Owners can complain but if Stern is doing his best to make them as much money as possible (which he has done a pretty good job in the past) why would they complain. Only Mark Cuban complains and he gets fined too and now stuck with an overpaid team.

And on a few of those calls, it was a foul on Bargnani. It's just usually they let that contact slide.

On the rebound, Bargs was holding Dwights arm.

But usually if you slam into a guy on a rebound and give him your arm, he's allowed to lock it up. I thought Bargs did an adequate job releasing the arm once the ball left the rim

It was crunch time, "the best young big in the game" playing at home, D12 got the calls.

one of those refs had major coin or knew somebody with massive coin on this game. ive never seen a more blatant display of point shaving in my entire life. one way or another whatever the bet was this was brutal. orlando got to the line 17 TIMES before we got there once in the 4th...even watching game in an hour was comical...NBA REFS ARE CROOKED.

What makes it worse is how Howard complains about any fouls he gets. He fouled out against Indy by grabbing a guy's arm before he went up to shoot. It was a bad lazy foul. And then he acts like he's been completely victimized by some bogus call.

last night the refs defiantly changed the momentum of the game in the 4th quarter, giving massive fouls and turnovers on us out of the woodworks, and shit, they almost gave the game to the magic.....but we still got the W and thats what counts....shit, they didnt event take back the lead at any point in the 4th which was nice to see

Leo and jack have commented heavily on this throughout the season.

Leo made the statement that of all the people in the NBA, Andrea gets more phantom calls than anyone.
Jack's said similar things, and last night, he made the point that it's up to the coaching staff to work the officials in one way or another. If something's awry then you make your point, plead the case, and get them to look at it in-game. I don't know if he was doing that, but the foul discrepancy indicates that he wasn't doing that as well as he should have, and oh, his team stopped attacking.

The referees know that if one team is in the bonus and the other has five fouls to give with under 8 to go in the final quarter of a tight game then the team with fouls to give can play more aggressively and take chances. There's an advantage to it, and while I don't think Toronto had really done anything to warrant a whistle on their end, Orlando sure as shit hadn't either.

Like bjjs said, it was a clear indication of home court officiating and golden boy treatment. dwight and his million smile can't get schooled by hibbert and Bargnani on two consecutive nights can he?
