Alone he's probably worth a mid to late 1st rounder + a solid player.
If you were to package him with say Ross and Calderon's expiring I think we'd get a good return.

I'd be willing to bet one idiot GM offered us a beast deal for Bargs at some point and Colangelo turned it down.

On a side note, how bad is it that Ross is basically a throw-in. What a waste of a pick... Colangelo really shit the bed on that one. Burning a lotto pick on a player who plays the same position as one of your best players. Just an overall bad decision when higher potential picks were available.

We all know that BC is proud of his #1 draft pick and will not trade him and fire the head coach if he gets benched or doesnt get his minutes; ala Sam Mitchell

Come on now, Bargnani made 2 huge freethrows in OT to tie the game late. His only miss that you speak of was in 3OT when we were already down by 6 points with under a minute left.

Derozan actually missed quite a few important freethrows, but that's trivial at this point.

I'd love to try and correct that draft day mistake and deal Bargs and Ross to DET for Drummond and filler.

Wait, why would we give up Bargs and Ross for the guy taken after Ross? Should have just drafted Drummond and traded Bargs for something else.

Bargnani would be a great compliment to a team with two players already established as options 1 and 2. If Derozan and Lowry continue to have great chemistry, I don't see why that team can't be us.

Because Bargnani won't and never will play defense and rebound. Whatever he brings on the offensive end, he takes away from the other side of the ball.

Is it true that if you critique Bargs on here, even with statistical evidence, logic, stats, etc you will inevitably get downvoted?

There's bad D and there's ABD
Basketball is just a job to Bargs.

I don't know, I thought Bargnani has improved virtually every game this season, he's still shooting poorly, but he's getting closer to last season's performance imo.

He's just not utilized well, offensively we're parking him at the 3pt line asking to make plays from there, not much you can do. And defensively, while he had some mind-blowing breakdowns every game, he's getting better. I just wish we'd stop using him to hedge, he's just too slow and he's almost useless when hedging anyway. Last night was particularly bad, you can't ask a guy playing his 50th minute to run all the way outside the 3pt line, chase a speedy pg around AND go back under the basket to protect his man, it's just an unrealistic feat for most players in this league. That was on casey imo, I get that jose is just a glorified pylon, but in that case, bring ed/jv to chase williams and put andrea on al.

Except that Jose contributes much more to the team than Bargs does.

In Jose you have....

- a reliable ball-handler
- an efficient shooter with 3pt range
- a great passer who makes others better

In Bargs you have....

- a scorer who's only interest is in having the ball in his hands

No contest really IMO.

No. It's the blind hate that gets downvoted. But just as you feel maligned, others jump all over positive posts praising Bargnani as Bargnani lovers and megastar followers. I think you're just feeling it more because you're firmly fixated on one side of the spectrum.

There's a difference between a critique and blind hate. I'm not a hater. I present some logic with evidence (especially today when I've made posts).

Agreed, as my post alluded to. Being firmly fixated doesn't mean that you're incorrect to be so. It's the others that post with an agenda of hate or trolling that make yours seem worse than they are.

All of us are Raptor fans. All of us were on the Bargnani bandwagon one time. With his play throughout the years, that bandwagon has become smaller and smaller. Its no longer blind hate when you back up his poor play with stats, excerpts from articles, and video. Its call evidence not blind hate.

I'm not exactly a student of Basketball, but is this hedging thing universal? I don't really get it, all that happens is Bargnani runs out and they double the point guard, who then passes it out and Bargnani is usualy out of position or has to chase a guy back.

Why do they do this? I'm not trying to sound stupid but I'm just curious about this play in particular.
