Can you name 5 teams that could be looking to sign Klow for big money this summer to be their starter? I think the Lakers will be sniffing around....

N.O. (Not with Holiday there) Yup, I forgot he was there! lol

Phi (Not with MCW there) I dunno, philly is dieing to win. With a high pick and Lowry with MCW on the bench?

San Antonio (Not with Parker there) don't think parker would be willing to come off the bench?

Utah (Not with Burke there) yeah, I think you are right and I doubt Kyle would ever want to play there.

He fits so well with that system. He is a hard nosed defender who rebounds.
I KNOW Larry Bird has his eyes on Kyle. We must NEVER let this happen!! lol

they have no cap space
unless we trade kyle, but they have no assets either. Maybe stephenson, but I'm scared of him, he was a nutcase and who knows if he's really changed. Plus he's more of a sg anyway.

they're tanking hard this season, they have 0 interest in winning. Next season they'll have two high picks in the draft + noel. They're in better shape than we are .... I look at them and I see OKC 5 years ago, this is a team that will challenge for the top spot in the east in 3 seasons.

I don't see Indiana being interested because they don't have the cap space next year and they need to re-sign Stephenson. In addition, I cannot see them paying $15M to $18M on Hill and Lowry. Hill's contract ($8M per year for 3 more years) is almost unmovable.

The Knicks have zero cap space and zero assets to acquire Lowry.

LA could be players, but I think LA will be making runs at any of the big-name FAs (James, Melo, etc.). I'm also not sure Lowry would want to go there because he would be playing a lesser role to Kobe and whatever FA they sign.

Orlando has the cap space, but I think they're in full rebuild mode. I see them taking Smart or Exum in the draft.

Add Charlotte to the list. They have cap space and a need a PG (Walker is a tweener who is better coming off the bench). Adding Lowry could make them a playoff team, although that club is a long ways off from competing for a title.

I could see Minnesota pulling off a sign-and-trade with the Raptors that sees Rubio+ coming the other way. Not that I would like that deal, but the TWolves need an all-around PG to run the show.

Indiana really doesn't have much to offer the Raptors. I can't see MU agreeing to a package that includes George Hill (who would have to come the other way) because of his contract.

Lakers and Magic.

Most other teams who need a PG are well over the cap (and some, like the Knicks, are so far over the tax that we can't even S+T him to them - even if Melo walks!).

The Indiana possibility is interesting, as they would then have his Bird Rights and could re-sign him in the summer, and if he's their starter on that team they would a) have a great chance at the chip and b) be able to offer him the role I think he wants (starting for a winner).

The return from Indy... No real draft picks or prospects that could come back. Depends what Ujiri wants. Assuming George Hill comes back, is that enough? Probably not, he's a bit overpaid and locked in for 3 more years.

What about George Hill, Granger, Butler, 2014 2nd, 2015 2nd, 2015 GSW 2nd for Lowry, Salmons, Hayes, Novak?

That gives them Lowry, clears Hill off their cap so they can sign Lowry, doesn't lose them any real assets, and gives them Salmons and Hayes, two vet defenders who can contribute (plus the flexibility of Salmons' contract this summer), and a shooter in Novak. All for the cost of their PG (which they are upgrading), and two expiring contracts plus some terrible picks.

Gives the Raps cap relief, a few late picks, and a starting PG (although a downgrade from Lowry).

Yeah, that Indiana trade proposal is terrible. I think MU would take one or two future 1st-round picks, even if they aren't until 2016 or '17 over the batch of 2nd-round picks.

Also, I think Solomon Hill would have to come the other way as oppose to Butler. At least get one young guy that could be part of the core.

Solomon Hill inclusion is a good idea. They have no first rounders to trade (their protections go up to 2020). You could probably jig up a "1st available 1st rounder from 2016 to 2020" which would revert to a 2nd in 2020, but sometimes teams are hesitant to add to their pick debt when they already owe.

But do the Pacers take on the risk of Lowry walking and not being able to sign a new starting PG for that price? Giving up Solomon Hill plus a 1st while taking on salary makes little sense.

Maybe a George Hill, Solomon Hill, 1st rounder 2016 for Lowry, Novak deal works?

See I doubt the Pacers take that, but it would work for me.

Anybody have access to espn insider? They say a trade to Houston would be the perfect trade and would not diminish a playoff run.
