project tank in full effect. no point in over achieving. better to play hard, know that we had a strong chance to win...but still lose.

How can any of you blame the refs? Watch the video, it's clearly 5 seconds, then Rascal calls for the timeout. It was obviously his bail out, and now it's his excuse, "The refs" blew it.

Seriously, this guy has botched 2 inbounds plays, and nearly a third in the Utah game from what I remember correctly.

I fucking hate that guy. I knew he'd be a pain in the ass for the Raptors team and fans when he hit his 3rd miss shot during the preseason game vs Celtics.

If I were Colangelo, I'd trade that guy for a Blackberry Playbook.

From NBA League Office @NBAOfficial: 5 sec violation at end of TOR-LAL was correct call; actual count was 5.8 seconds.

Thanks Butla

i gotta say that Butler has been probably the most infuriating signing this team has made in years. I cringe everytime he has the ball in his hands and really i just wish he would go away.

I've still doubts. Anyway, the ball would be given to DeRozan, so...

Derozan or Kleiza. Both of those guys were in good position to take the pass.

Butler is Butler. So there's that. But I'm pretty sure Casey called a timeout a full second before Butler thought to. There was a reverse angle they showed on the telecast last night where you could see the ref and Casey at the same time and Casey is screaming "Time out! Time out!" in the background as the ref turns to blow the whistle. Seemed to me like Rasual heard him screaming then reacted to call a TO. And coaches can call timeouts.

Of course, it made little difference and we got a little closer to more ping pong balls, so it doesn't really matter.

Exactly! Why would you bring in someone out of rhythm of the game?? It might as well be Alabi, at least he's taller. It's that much more ridiculous after you've seen this fail before.
"they're gonna switch off all screens" - How about just getting Kobe off Jose this way. Casey has shown time and again his ineptness when it comes to crucial plays. Still..
Has it been Lakers throwing the ball out of bounds, that fucker wouldn't have called violation after 7 secs.

lol yup. But I guess its not his fault for getting the minutes he has received at times. If players were healthy, he likely wouldn't see a minute on the court.

At least he is one pro tank commando.

0:09 DeRozan is in a clear position to get the pass. This one is on Butler once again.

If you're ever having trouble inbounding the pass, don't you throw it to the tallest player on your team or a player on your team who can jump higher than the opponent. Why not throw it to Demar? He doesn't have to dribble it to catch the inbound pass.

meh...saved Derozan the embarrassment of likely tossing up yet another airball.

And man...does he ever chuck a lot of airballs.

Demar just has to catch the inbound pass, and give it to Jose to set up the play. I wish we had players who can make plays to close out games. Give me Jose and Bosh with the pick and roll. Most games, especially the 47 win season, it was unstoppable.

Jose and Bargnani can do the same thing...problem is this, you need an equally effective bail out option (derozan) and another off f/g capable of creating something last second on a broken play..... this mean that you need at least 4 reliable and proven scorers to close out close games consistently.

Toronto is WAY far off from that.
