Default Rasho at vet minimum?

Nesterovic is an option for the Pistons last big man. But they hope Big Ben agrees first. Both would be at vet minimum.
If that's the case, I am pretty sure Rasho would rather do this in Toronto. Furthermore, this could also mean that BC doesn't have to wait until Tuesday to seriously pursue Rasho.

Ben Wallace? I'd rather have Rasho. But the vet minimum? Isn't that only 1.3Mil.

If so that would leave us with the BAE (2Mil) to maybe go after Barnes?

So why hasn't it happened? Is BC looking at someone else for a possible vet min deal?

I don't think he's gonna do anything else until Jack is signed here. Because if Indy matches then Brian probably has a plan to sign 2 players with the MLE?

I dunno. Frankly, I have a hard time imagining a better backup centre for this team. Could it be that Rasho has really slowed down over the past season?

It could also mean that Ford doesn't know his ass from his elbow or that Rasho's readiness to play for a vet minimum is more of a wishful thinking by Dumars. And AFAIK, Wallace was planning on retiring after his buyout is done.

I seriously think Toronto has the better team now and Rasho does love Toronto. The fact that he loves the city should be huge.

rasho isn't going to sign any where with out the Raptors at least throwing a contract at him. so, why should we pursue him when we already have him in custody.

It's smart of the Pistons to go after him. I think Houston and Dallas should be knocking on his door, too. He was quietly very solid for Indiana last season.

The thing is, he's said he would love to come back to Toronto. The guy kept his place here, he's probably going to retire here, and he said he was willing to wait a bit before signing anything this summer.

I think the chances are still damn good that he comes back, unless someone offers him significantly more money than the Raps do.

I think vet minimum for Rasho's years of service is around 1.3 mil. I'd guess that once Jack is officially signed, BC is going to offer Rasho a 3 year deal starting at our bi-annual exception (close to 2 mil).

Umm...

But yeah, a Rasho pickup at the vet minimum would give us a solid bench player at close to every position. Rasho's also the perfect guy for Andrea to have around to continue his development in the post.

probably colangelo is treating rasho as a RFA - he lets him get offers and then he matches anything decent.

I was reading the rules regarding the Bi-Annual Exception, there is no rules regarding the minimum years guaranteed. Raptors should offer a one year contract to Rasho, so it would be an attractive expring contract for the NBA trade deadline, or offer him another mimimum contract next summer if things work out. Why guarantee him two or three years.
