Yep. Bang on.

I think he just wasn't very good back then. It's crazy to blame triano, when he developed so much under him (and under casey of course). When he came into the league, he couldn't do anything, no handle, no shot, just dunks. He was very raw.

Meh I disagree. He's mostly been all about nothing but scoring, and usually when it never mattered, and never had any real impact on most games. Last night was different. He made his impact all over the whether it was rebounding, dishing it to his teammates, or his late game surge to help push us to the win. You never got that from Demar at all. The last 2 weeks or so he's stepped up for the most part. If he keeps doing it, I'll actually give him the credit that hes never earned or deserved before.

But if he keeps ignoring everyone when his shot is falling (unlike last night) than I won't. He seems more team oriented since Gay left though, so I'll give em that.

that's crazy. Derozan is their best player right now. Don't know how you don't see it Chigg.

Demar plays like MyPlayer in 2K.

Always choose athletic play style for the speed and dunking at the combine. He came into the league basically only able to jump and dunk, then he spent some of his VC on his mid-range shot. It looked like he used some of that VC on his 3pt shot this summer, but lately it's regressed.

Now he just needs to save up some VC to upgrade his quickness so he can defend better

Over DD's last 5 games he's averaging 21/5/5 + 1 stl and 1 blk.

For the entire month of december (thus far) he's averaging about 21/4/5.

Pretty far from "one-dimensional" if you ask me.

DD is a much better player. He is still fairly young and got better with the team. Saying now that he is all about scoring is simply wrong. I am sure MU is evaluating if he is worth trading or a keeper. If we think that any top 5 pick in the upcoming draft will be any better than DD we are fooling ourselves. The draft is always about scouting and even top GMs and their staff can miss. It's not that simple. That being said another young talent will be great to have around.

I said directly in my post over the last 2 weeks he's played a lot better and a lot more team oriented, if it makes you feel that much better to make it 3 instead of 2 (which would be the entirety of the month of December) go right ahead. I also said he's done a lot better, and played more team ball since Gay left.

I swear you've taken up DD as your new Bosh, where you refuse to read anything, and just throw up random shit to pointlessly argue nothing.

Agreed. Demar has played great over the last bunch of games. He is definitely playing more team ball than the start of the season.

I think demar/lowry/amir/jv are all solid pieces that you can build a winner around AS LONG as you get that superstar to anchor it all. Add Durant to that core and that's an instant contender, provided you can assemble a bench.

however, we need a top 5 draft pick this season to get that piece.

We've assumed the way to get that is to trade one or more of the lowry/demar/amir. If that's not possible because we can't get fair value, another alternative is to gut the bench. If we can trade tyler/salmons/vasquez and patterson (all very replaceable pieces - not worth keeping them), we'd have such a lousy bench that trading the starters would not be required. Even if we only get a top 10 pick, that's still a very solid player.

Also, we HAVE to extend casey. If he has job security, they can easily find a way to lose more games. We DON'T HAVE to play our starters 35mpg.

This is a make or break season, if we play it right, with a bit of luck, we could be set to make a massive jump next season.

Recently he's looking real good, the assist numbers are going up. Guess he's improving, nice!

I've read everything that you've written about DD... and if anyone's making up random shit to pointlessly argue it's you. And you're right... this is Bosh all over again because we have some fans who love nothing better than find fault with the team's best player... even when he's busting his ass to help the team win.

In the month of Nov. (when Gay was still here) Demar attempted almost EXACTLY the same amount of shots as he's taking now... and he actually shot BETTER then (44% to 41%)! His numbers were 22/4/3. He was still doing a lot more than JUST scoring to help the team. For whatever reason, you just refused to see it.

I'm done arguing with you though... and I'm not the only one around here who seems to think that you're watching a different game than everyone else.... which would suggest to me that my viewpoint isn't nearly as "out there" as you seem to think it is.

um, you do know that coaches can be fired and don't count against cap
what's the harm in extending him, at worst mlse loses a few millions if they need to replace him.

of course, I don't get why casey gets so much hate - especially with the way the team is playing lately. We've been top half defense since season started, which was the main focus and we're ramping up the offense as well. I'm ok with giving him another season or two until we get somebody better.

it would be good for the tank, if he's not so under the gun to win now. With job security, he's not stupid, he knows getting a good draft pick will make his job easier next season.
