Q: I could really get excited about the Raptors' next season and era of young blood, but the Hedo situation feels like such a downer. I think people could get over the Bosh departure more easily if Turk would either regain focus and commitment here or leave. Any sense of when we might hear about his future?
Jenny F, Toronto

A: I can see how it’d be a downer without question, it was a rather terrible season. There is no timetable, really. Bryan will listen to offers and probably seek some out but, and I’m getting this from everyone in the organization, if there’s no “blow us out of the water” deals, they are quite fine with Turk coming back and think he will return with more focus and commitment.

Turk will be much more useful on a team without Bosh.

If Jose is dealt, and now without Bosh i don't mind Turk still being here.

Yeah, one of Jose or Turk has to be gone. They both bring each other down by demanding the ball.

why would people want him gone. He's good.

Fuck, people whine about BC sucking, but if he just lets this guy walk its another degradation of talent that this team can't have.

Honestly man.

But he's better for this team imo then Jose is. Jose's trade value won't get any better, Hedo on the other hand without Bosh and Jose could raise his game and raise his value and then either stay or be dealt next summer. You keep Jose and he gets injured again and or has another bad season...? Plus, the PG needs to be upgraded in the worst way.

there's every chance that the guy lost a step when he hurt himself last summer. Oh yeah - we heard how he was fine, there was nothing wrong, he never felt better. Bullshit. We heard the same minimizing from Jose. A guy like Turkoglu cannot afford to lose a step or have his shot effected by a bad leg.

So we'll see soon enough if there's any chance of him having any value. I'll be watching how he plays in Turkey very closely. I suspect it won't be pretty.

as much as i hate Turk (and his contract) i have to agree with this statement...in fact his offensive numbers could be crucial to this team next year...and with the pylon hopefully gone next season, he should get a lot more "ball" to do it with

now whether or not he can stay away from the pizza and sprite is another matter all together

I don't want him to be more usefull! I don't want him here!!!

Him being here gives less playing time to the players I want to see play like:

Weems
DeRozan
Beli
Kleiza

I want all those players to play not Hedon't!!

I can't understand why we would even consider letting him play here anymore he's a bitch/baby/idiot & doesn't help this franchise moving forward!

I can't really believe there is talk about him staying. The guy absolutely mailed it in all year last year. He played like a guy who got a big fat contract and didn't give a rats ass. Why now, is he all of a sudden going to change even without Bosh here? He is a professional athlete and because he came to camp out of shape and didn't get to play the way he wanted to be used he played like a whiny little bitch and even chuckled about loses. With the roster we have now keeping Hedo would be a detriment not only to the development of the young guys on the floor but in the locker room. If BC doesn't move him before the summer is out he should be fired!

Default Get Rid of Him!!!

Turkoglu should pack his bags and be gone, same as calderon..Raptors don't want him on this team...
Turkoglu is cancer,u can't be serious, there is a lot of good young talent here, what u need here is veterans who can let Andrea,Demar,Sunny,Ed..grow.
Turkoglu is selfish and it's about him self...
I can't believe it would matter what they get for him...trade him for second round pick..who cares, look what chicago did when they traded Kirk Hinrich...just get rid of his contract and his Ego.

If BC wants somebody to blow him out of the water for Turk, it won't happen this summer.

I don't want Turk or Jose playing but for opposite reasons.
Jose loves the team and is a good team player.
But I think he needs a place where his defense isn't a problem....if Fisher goes to Miami look for Jose in LA.

Turk on the other hand could be useful at least in the short term and right now his value is rock bottom.
Yes the worlds will expose Turk either as complete waste of breath or a worthwhile part.
I don't think he will dare to show up out of shape for his country especially with the Worlds in Turk.

keyword in that article is "they think hedo will be more focused and committed to playing. I dont want to see all of our guys meshing while Hedo is sticking out like a sore thumb bringing everyone down, BC rushing to trade him before the deadline getting crappy left overs.

It would be better for this team if he stays. Instead of Derozan weems, always creating for there self. They have someone on the wing who can throw them longs, and get them the ball easy through cuts, and for open jumpshots. Keep, him trade Jose, pick up bobby brown for your third string point guard, get darren collinson if you can, and this offseason would be a success.

BC's only hope of getting fair trade value for Turk will be from one his former clubs such as Orlando or Sacramento that might feel they can rejuvenate him...
