last post before yesterday was in october, goes to show how healthy we've been
better hope this doesn't become a popular thread, or else we'll be in trouble.

I think they'll throw Novak in there for about 12 minutes.
You are right. Novak should definitely get some minutes. Plus, we need the extra scoring with DD out.

If Derozan isn't out for a minimum 1 week ,if not 2, I'll be shocked.

I think it'll likely depend on how we do without him.... If we look good and keep winning I could see him sitting out until he's back at 100%. If we lose a few... he'll prob. be back pretty soon.

Damn. "Raptors say DeRozan (sprained left foot) won't travel to Brooklyn for Monday's game".

"@RaptorsMR: #Raptors forward Patrick Patterson (broken nose) is w/ the team and expected to play Monday at Brooklyn. #RTZ" -some good news : Eric__Smith

DeMar needs to sit out the all-star game (if he makes it) if he doesn't play for the next few weeks.

No way he would sit out his first All star game, and I wouldn't blame him...If you were in his shoes you wouldn't sit it out.

I would sit it out if I knew it was the first of many.

If you know you're gonna come back next year as an improved player/better than this year its a pretty safe bet that you have a shot at repeating the honour.

Nobody knows that, you can hope....but even that doesn't garantee a spot. Other player may surprise and/or improve.

Thats true.

It is unlikely though that you get an all-star selection one year, improve the next year and not get another allstar selection.

Why wouldn't you just go, play for 5 or 10 minutes and then ask to sit the rest of the game?

There's no way that he sits out if he makes the squad. No way.

The Raptors will play a significant Atlantic Division game without their most potent offensive weapon. DeMar DeRozan, the team’s leading scorer and a possible NBA Eastern Conference all-star, did not travel with the team for a Monday night game in Brooklyn against the Nets, who began Sunday play just two games behind Toronto in the division.

A team statement said DeRozan would sit out with a “sprained left foot/ankle” after being injured in the first half of Saturday’s loss to the Los Angeles Clippers. There was no indication how long DeRozan would be out. Toronto hosts Orlando on Wednesday before a five-game western trip that begins Friday in Denver.

Unless one of the main reasons you're making it in the first place is because two of the conference's best PGs are injured. They pick guards now, not specifically PGs and SGS. If Rondo and Rose, or at least one of them (especially Rose), comes back healthy and plays at least 80% of their norm, then Derozan could easily get bumped out the following year despite improving a bit more. He still wouldn't be better than a healthy Rose.

you know what I fear with this? That ross starts to force his game with demar out. He's still young so he may feel pressured to make up for demar when, let's face it, he's not there yet. You won't score 51 every game. I hope, really hope, we just dump it into our bigs more, rather than be more dependent on ross and or salmons
