Raptors vs. UK?

They could have chosen a few teams, like the ones with a worse record than Toronto, but the writer asks whether the Kentucky Widcats could handle the Raptors......and it is in CBS sportsline.

Is derozan really considered that athletic?

LightsOut 02-05-2012 12:02 AM

he doesn't mention the worst team in the league but mentions the raps? the fuck?

jeffb 02-05-2012 12:20 AM

Don't we have like the 6th worst record?

RaptorsandBuckeye FaN 02-05-2012 12:31 AM

What a stupid article. I expect them from some fans but from a writer? Really? No college team is gonna be a pro team. 0.

Windex 02-05-2012 01:07 AM

they make these arguments with the best college football team vs. the worst NFL team

don't they realize that men play in the NBA and teenagers play college ball. Stronger, faster, smarter. Bargs would put up 40 and Calderon would get 20 assists.

they've both nearly done that on the pro level, i'd say 60 points for bargs and 30 assists for caldy :yeah:

60 is pushing it, but i definitely can see bargs dominating, i doubt that collage pf could stop him

I don't think 60 is pushing it, if you keep him in even when the games not close its very possible, but than again they won't play extra hard against a college team lol

Some Euro teams played US college teams in preparation for Eurobasket last year. If Greece were able to beat BYU by 40 or so I see Raptors beating UK by 50 or more. Stupid stupid article.

Not sure if ab would really dominate, but guys like gray, amir or davis would destroy the paint.

Is there a reason why Gray would destroy the paint and AB wouldn't? he is 7footer too

Alex 02-05-2012 12:34 PM

Considering AB and Gray are similar in build.

LilRomeo 02-05-2012 01:00 PM

Lol the American writer is confident of saying it because he knows Raptors vs UK won't happen. It will only leave the readers a reasonable doubt which the writer's point of writing the article.

If they want to make this match-up a reality like Pacquiao-Mayweather, my man Calderon would put on a clinic against this UK's PG. He's fond of dominating Kyrie, Wall, Rubio and other new PGs in the NBA. lol

Men > kids

Wildcats' starting Five better then Raptors?

Kentucky vs. NBA's Raptors: Not an easy call - CBSSports.com

As i was looking though some college player profiles i stumbled upon this. In this article they compare the starting 5 of the Raptors/Wildcats. The author, Goodman, hints that the starting 5 of the wildcats would outplay the raptors. I usually dont opiniate but to me, this seem like another shot at Toronto. Granted our starting five has changed a few times this season, and we're far from being a good team, but this writer seems to know very little about the different levels of basketball. Remember bad teams are only bad against other nba teams. These are proven grown men who made it to the pros; the worst nba team in history would beat any college team based on one simple fact. College studs dont always translate to the pros such examples include Riddick/Jimmer. Such a comparison just leaves me to believe Toronto despites its recent defensive improvements and strides to keep games competitive (Heat,OT Washington) will not get the respect of any fan based until it starts winning more games. Work your magic Bryan.

Chiggmo 02-07-2012 02:12 PM

Lol Jimmer plays his first season and its shortened and he doesn't translate to the nba now? ugh

Jimmer is averagely .369% field goals averaging around 8.5 in 22 mins of action. He will not be the sensation is was in college, and will probably make strides but it will take time.

Chiggmo 02-07-2012 02:18 PM

My point was, why bother give the guy shit when he hasn't even played a full season of nba ball, and it was a shortened one, AND wasn't allowed to even play for the first bit due to the strike.

Benzo 02-07-2012 02:19 PM

We started Aaron Gray.....this has nothing to do with being Canadian, it has to do with the team the started Aaron fucking Gray
