Raptors trying to land Amare?

Quote:
Amare Stoudemire now appears to be a long shot to return to Phoenix after opting out of the last year of his contract and negotiations on a new deal with Suns owner Robert Sarver broke off late Tuesday night, a source said.

Stoudemire is now in the mix of free-agent power forwards being pursued by the Miami Heat, Chicago Bulls, New jersey Nets and New York Knicks.

The Houston Rockets, Dallas Mavericks and Toronto Raptors also are looking at potential sign-and-trade scenarios that could land Stoudemire.

Could be correct ...
I'm not sold on Amare .. he doesn't play a lick of defense and his rebounding is shit. Without Nash he will be marginalized here in raptorland.
Get a stud PG or SG is what we need ...

He'd have to want to come here. Not gonna happen.

Out of all the teams with cap space to sign him and especially not at max (16 mill) why would he come to Toronto of all places?

Not happening..

Amare could make Jose look more like Nash than Bosh... Amare is so explosive.

Anyone who takes a look at Bosh in games 5 years ago would notice he has lost his explosive hops... maybe I'm just jaded, but I swear dude already is grounded. Makes sense that he doesn't intimidate any players driving the lane...

Dear Claudius,

You were correct for suggesting that Colangelo might ATTEMPT to land Amar'e.

pipe dream,

amare doesn't want to go to the cavs because he doesnt want to play in a cold city, only cities he is really looking at are miami and phx, outside chance of san antonio and dallas

to me with wade being good friends with Amare better friends than Bosh the greater opportunity is Amare in Miami, the only problem is Pat Riley wants Bosh over amare, thats what holding hte amare to miami deal down

I wonder if we get the 16 mle do we have to spend this summer or can we wait tell next year anybody know this?

A GM has up to a year to use a traded player exception (TPE). If BC does not like the opportunities available this summer, it's possible he will hold off using it until the season starts. He might wait for a losing team to get desparate to unload something and then pick off a prospect in the process. There are a number of possible scenarios.

wow that miami trade geting all that free money is looking great

everyone is blwoing their money this summer we could be players with that money next year, plus restricted players who teams might not want to sign

I hope that deal goes down

considering raps don't really need throw in players considering htey probably wouldn't even play with the current depth we have right, with our bigs in the draft and development minutes for demar again this year, and really giving Bargnani a fair shake at the 4 where he should have been his whole career

Amar'e Stoudemire will meet with the Knicks on Monday, followed by the Bulls on Tuesday.

The Raptors have also expressed interest in Stoudemire.

Imagine a fast break with Derozan, Weems, Amir, and Amare... That would be fucking blitzkrieg for the other team.

He's gonna end up in Miami or Chicago (wherever Bosh doesn't go) but BC seems determined. lol

On the Stoudemire front, I don't know which team made the better offer yet but those closer to the situation think it's New York. 26 minutes ago via web

If that is so why isn't Riley trying to sign Amare; then if he like Bosh so much we trade Bosh to them and we get Amare+Beasely if they want to dump him ^_^; also considering NY is going to get f'ed over and no one go to sign with them I doubt Nash would want to go there anymore but then come home to Canada and he can play with Amare again ^_^

No. He's definitely not worth what he's gonna get paid and whatever team that signs him without having a star player is gonna have a very grim future.
