Raptors thinking of offering a multi year deal for Deandre Jordan?

I though they weren't going to do much?

Quote:

If the Los Angeles Clippers are content to have restricted free-agent center DeAndre Jordan(notes) bring them back an offer sheet to match, the line of suitors is long and serious, league executives said. The Toronto Raptors, New Orleans Hornets, Houston Rockets, Golden State Warriors and Minnesota Timberwolves are teams with salary-cap space considering multiyear offers for Jordan.

I like that Colangelo is looking to up the price for other teams on these players.

would be good if you're right!

*Sigh*

How many times are we going to hear this crap?

Even Val's buyout rumours are most likely groundless...

You gotta think that at least ONE of these has some sort of base. Jordan wouldn't be that expensive, I could see it. More likely then a Gasol or Chandler.

Clippers will match it anyway.

media just throws a bunch of stories and hope one of them sticks

we're in the hunt for every FA, but we want to save money for 2012 :cookie:

Yeah, throwing our name into the mix really stops everyone in their tracks. They can't resist. Lol

There's probably gonna be another story tomorrow about the Raptors chasing Vince Cater lol.

DanH 12-05-2011 10:45 AM

Usually these stories are just the agent leaking a list of teams with cap space as potential bidders on their player, to drive up the market. TO will be connected with pretty much every player on the market, since we have cap space, and BC is known for throwing money around. There might be some truth behind some of these rumours, but the only ones so far that wouldn't benefit anyone leaking them are the 'save cap space' and 'Jonas coming over' rumours.

The Clippers have offered DeAndre Jordan a five-year, $40 million offer, according to sources.

Jordan, a restricted free agent, may still sign an offer sheet with a higher dollar amount that forces the Clippers to match.

That's about fair, assuming he continues to develop. Let's see who's going to drive the price up on this one.

Guys, read Simmons' second article - highly illuminating. ;)

I'll be very surprised if he doesn't get at least a few other offers topping that one.

haha

Good read. Some of that will probably happen. I hope he is really exagerating about Nene for comedic effect.

C's are such a premium position.

BC did an excellent move taking JV. Can't believe he didn't go higher. I thought he was a lock at 4 to CLE.

I thought he would go to Utah at #3 before Kanter...

Dark Knight 12-06-2011 08:04 PM

If Jonas didn't have any buyout issues he easily could've been taken at #2, I think at least.

Toby 12-06-2011 08:07 PM

Deandre Jordan wants too much money. Yes he can jump really high and dunk the ball. But his defense sucks, he can't shoot for shit, and his low court awareness is what has kept him on the Clippers.
