Raptors tell Calderon he's still on the Trading Block

The last time we made the playoffs, we had the strong PG tandem of Ford and Calderon. Any hopes BC will keep the strong point guard tandem (Lowry & Jose) for a chance to make the playoffs will not happen, BC is ready to trade Calderon:

"Bryan (Colangelo, Raptors GM) has said that I’m a candidate to be traded because I have a big contract and it’s my last year."

"Calderon has even reportedly worked with the Raptors to find a team with enough cap space to absorb his $10.6 million 2012-13 salary."

I don't see it happening anytime soon. If Lowry goes down with any injury at all i think we can see Jose here the whole season.

hopefully if he is traded its closer to the deadline. im just starting to really get excited about Lowry/Calderon, plus i think he'll really shine as the best back up in the league. Also im hoping if we do ship him out he'll be packaged with some of our other redundant talent, to where and for who? i dont know but fingers crossed for an SF.

I'd rather it be now so the team can focus and move forward. It's not like JC is going to have a revelation and want to stay. Most likely it will be at the trade deadline when other teams need a lift or want to jettison someone for cap room.

Man I hope this doesn't get into his head. On the bad side, he might not be motivated to give it his all for this team until he gets traded. On the plus side, it's his contract year and he needs to showcase his talents to get a better contract for next year.

I still prefer to keep him, and re sign him to a backup contract

I wonder what Jose, DD and ED could fetch.

This - unless there is some crazy good deal out there I'd like to see him as a Raptor for his whole career.

i think jose + Ed OR jose + DD should be enough to get something pretty nice in return. I wanna see what Ed and DD can do next season first.

before portland signed batum to a big contract and drafted lillard i would've said jose + DD for batum would've been fair.

someone close to batum's level should be achievable? like Doc said it's probably wait and see till closer to the deadline. Hopefully a deal will materialise.
